The second season in a row that Sevilla have survived by a single point. Last season a point less would have relegated Sevilla instead of Leganes, who had the head-to-head.
This season, a point less would have put Sevilla in a 4-way tie with Levante, Osasuna and Mallorca where the head-to-head points would have been Levante 13, Mallorca 9, Osasuna 8, Sevilla 3. Mallorca survive and Sevilla down.
After the narrow escape last year the owners didn’t get it. You’d hope the (new?) owners learn from this one.
Maybe so but in comparison to previous seasons it was very tight and other than Oviedo the points tallies were slightly higher than previous years. The season i felt was very stop and start with the start of the season until i believe the first international break feeling like complete elation and then total despair until the real sociedad match still not long ago. The new ownership, hopefully being done and confirmed soon, will have a lot of work to do. But we do lose now a sizeable amount of players for free due to contract expiries, a good thing in all honesty. If I’d have known we would finish 13th at the end of the season Id have bit your hand off. A sign of how bad its got but i hope we will be on the up soon, its more possible now than what it was a year or two ago
