đŸ‡Ș🇾 La Liga - Primera Division - Matchday 32 | Sevilla FC at CA Osasuna

Shocking.

Sociedad actually don’t have anything to play for as they’re safe, too far off Champions League and have already qualified for Europa League due to winning Copa so have no need to bust a gut to finish 6th/7th. Nonetheless, they seem to be playing ok. I would target Espanyol as you have them at home and they’ve been ridiculously bad recently with their last win before Christmas and 5 draws and 10 defeats since then. Probably hope for a draw for them tomorrow with Levante and then cross fingers. Not gonna lie, though, it’s looking very bad. Your relegation chances with Opta stood at 9% a month ago and are now 63%.

Well, 7 points off CL football. They are motivated and they score a lot of goals.

Its over. We need at least 3 wins out of 5

To think we used to have a squad that was so clutch/mentality monsters with quality too in europa league and copa del Rey finals! Now we have a low quality squad and fragile mentality who also bottle leads in relegation battles! It been a cruel 3/4 years after having an amazing run fighting at the top of the football pyramid

Never thought I’d say this mate but I wish we were in your shoes now. Valencia in a crisis but Sevilla’s crisis is another level! :sob:

We’ve probably done just about enough this time, but it’s the 3rd time in 4 years battling relegation, we’re both on the same road and it ends in the same place (ends in -egunda) due to awful ownership. Hope you can get out of it, but whereas I had optimism last season, I’m struggling to put positive spin this year. Junior has screwed you.

On the positive side my season ticket price should come down next season & there will be a chance of getting to some more away games with all the local teams in there with us..

In terms of relegation, do you see the club sell out almost al players, or could you see some of them stay with us?

My worry is also when we get back up. Our squad will be depleted and the chance of going Down again would be just as big.

Not sure but it is a right mess. We probably lose a lot but will struggle to get some out too.

It isn’t easy to get out of segunda. You see leganes and Valladolid struggling. Las Palmas are up there but not top 2.

Many clubs including big clubs took years to comeback and a couple haven’t at all. I don’t know what to expect but going to be tough. Hopefully if did go down we can get promoted quickly though. That would give whole club a massive boost especially with new owners.

We just got to stick with it and hopefully come out other side. What we desperately need is new leaders. The mess is massive to sort but if Sergio Ramos and his people come in then it offers some new hope and new direction.

The current leaders and the families have destroyed us. A shame because we had it great under them for years but the last 5 years have been a disaster and they ruined the club financially and our squad quality too.

We simply have to change. If we still have them in segunda it going to be tough to recover and very toxic.

That said we still can pray for a miracle this season until it officially over.

LGP complain 9mins extra time like it’s the root cause we lost today!?
He looks like a clown to me now.
We lost because of you and your team’s weak mentality and your BS substitution, not the 9mins.

A lot of the current players are on relatively long term contracts. Im pretty sure this year it will be Odysseas, Gudelj, Azpilicueta, Alexis, Cardoso and Januzaj going. The others are shit and have too high wages to be able to sell so they will be with us next season regardless.

Partially so but we have roughly had 14 managers since Unai Emery left, points at a bigger problem

Today relegation was confirmed really. Without significant change in the summer it was inevitable really. We have been fucked by La Ligas financial fair play rules made to benefit the big two and nobody else. I felt it was confirmed when we sold Dodi Lukebakio on deadline day and signed Alexis Sanchez who had 1 goal in 2 years or so as a replacement (I come from a family of Man Utd fans) however a positive initial start and beating barcelona did give me hope otherwise. The reality is that other than this we have regressed on last season where we finished 1 point above the drop. So what the fuck is to be expected here? I dont see us escaping this. We could have gone out and attempted to win against Levante and Oviedo. They are still below us. But we have a team of grifters and thugs. Now we are fucked. They deserve a toxic atmosphere against Sociedad. Players like Gudelj, Suazo, Vargas, Nianzou (Grifter!), Alexis, Isaac, Carmona, Juanlu, dont deserve to have a professional career let alone play for this club! And they only hope we have is that Sergio Ramos (who had many contraversies against the club while playing at Real) is that HIS consortium buys the club!! How do we even know if he comes in that they improve the club? We cant even confirm that until we see hard evidence otherwise. There has to be a very brutal atmosphere against Sociedad in the upcoming match. The players deserve it. They dont deserve to play at this club. They disgraced this club. They need to know they are not welcome.

:smiling_face_with_tear: Sad day for the club and the Supporters. It is going to be difficult to dig ourselves out of this mess, and get the players up for the remaining games now. You cannot keep losing to teams around you in the relegation mire like Levante and expect to stay up.

I know going down will not help the financial state of the club, but the whole club needs a reset from top to bottom. We simply cannot keep going on the way we have been for the last 5 years or so.

What I do know is we as supporters will get right behind this team and this club, and hopefully with the right leadership, the club will stabilise again and a phoenix will rise from the ashes.

Vamos mi Sevilla!!!

Just want to share a more rational comment although I don’t agree 100% (translated).

Luis Garcia has some good ideas, but the biggest problem is that many Sevilla players simply don’t have the ability to play in La Liga.
At the start, LGP double-teamed Muñoz, making him almost invisible, and limited Budimir to outside the penalty area. In the first half, he exploited Osasuna’s lack of high pressing, we press high to force them to launch high balls to gain possession. Then, he used the technique of midfielders Sow and Agoume to move the ball through the ground, using Oso’s forward runs to create space on the weak side.
In the second half, after Oso’s stamina was depleted, LGP shifted the focus to Vargas’s strong side, using three players’ skills and combinations to create threats and eventually score a goal.
After conceding the equalizer, Osasuna brought on RaĂșl Garcia to strengthen their aerial dominance, doing high pressing, and also due to injuries of our technical players, LGP shifted the tactics to high balls and fight for second balls. All of this shows that Luis Garcia is a very thoughtful and well-adjusted coach.
Almeida, too, made many correct changes to address the problems with Sevilla. These good coaches still can’t win games because our players simply don’t have the ability to play in La Liga.
Maupay and Adams easily fell into the opponent’s offside trap. Avoiding such simple traps should be a required course for any forward who has undergone youth training. Oso’s unforced pass were inaccurate, Suazo made two irresponsible long passes, and Castrin’s comical clearance towards the goalkeeper, and failed to stop Garcia’s shot. It’s understandable that this young defender, forcibly promoted from Primera División RFEF, can’t adapt to La Liga level, but Castrin’s performance really shows that many players in this team are simply not capable for La Liga.
Although I’ve never lost hope for Sevilla to avoid relegation, but objectively, our chances are getting slimmer. If they are relegated, I hope the team can keep Luis Garcia; I think he’ll be the one to bring Sevilla back to the top.

I have to agree with the above, we have had enough managers in charge of these same players over the past 3 or 4 seasons to prove that it’s not the fault of the coach. But that the players are simply just not good enough to hack it in La Liga.

Until we have a mass clear out and give Garcia or whoever is in charge the tools to start rebuilding, things will not improve any time soon.

Barcelona say it’s because of Financial Fair Play as well, but I’m not seeing it. It only works if you think Sevilla are sitting on a pile of money that La Liga have been stopping them spending, but the opposite is true: the club is broke. Sevilla under Monchi 1 were the model for a well-run club. Monchi 2 was more miss than hit. I mean, yeah, RM and Barcelona are a mafia who fixed the TV cash etc and whine for more advantages, but it wasn’t FFP that forced Sevilla to splurge on Isco, Rafa Mir, Oscar Rodriguez, Nianzou etc nor commit to spending 9 figures on building a new stadium. If anything, if it hadn’t been for FFP, Sevilla would be in an even deeper mess. External creditors want paid and that means player sales like Dodi. To fix all that it means getting back to the model of 10 years ago: get a good sporting director, buying younger players with good resale value and developing the academy. Easier said than done, but there is no other way except finding a rich sugar daddy and just ask clubs like Malaga or Valencia how that went.

Back to last night’s game, I felt the performance was better and it was very harsh on us to concede in the 99th minute (not sure where all that time come from) when we probably merited a point.

However, negative tactics and substitutions cost us settling for a draw when we really needed the win. The effort was there but I think we have to face the fact that we’re simply not good enough and relegation is now looking very likely and has been coming for a while now.

I don’t follow the off-field issues very closely but clearly these need resolving or things won’t change and we may god forbid drop even lower than the Segunda as has happened with other big clubs.

I just pray we can somehow get out of this very dark hole we find ourselves in :folded_hands:

Granada hasn’t made it back. Neither has Málaga which at one point made it to the champions league semi finals. Cádiz just dropped down to segunda not long ago, and are looking to drop lower again this season.
