How was Real Madrid’s equalizer offside? Anyway, Real Madrid haven’t won at the Benito Villamarín since 2021!

We were screaming ‘Atletico is more qualitative than us’, but RM is also much much more qualitative than Betpiss, and they lost.

It takes a bit of luck, but mostly balls and a strong belief that you can win. Betpiss believed they can beat RM, our players never believed they can beat Pathetico.

Add to that the main tactic of ‘trying something up front, somehow with the legend Ure’ and there you have it.

Now with the recent reinforcements and current squad, no more excuses for LGP or the players.

It will either be a lack of proper tactics from the coach, lack of proper commitment from the players, things will be more black and white. We have a squad for at least the 7th place this season.

Remember, we have a 23 million euros valued DM in the squad.

NO EXCUSES!

Bilbao shows us today why Pathetico shouldn’t have been over-respected like that. Makes it a real pity in hindsight that we didn’t get something in that match.

Total destruction of Pathetico by Bilbao…

I’m happy we didn’t have to play this Bilbao.

I’m glad they got an early red card against us!

It’s the same Bilbao with a weak coach and poor tactics, they just got a bit of a momentum. Pathetico is a very beatable club this season, but we couldn’t do it because of fear (our coach and players).

@ShendM

Terzić a weak coach? Maybe you should ask some real Dortmund fans what they think about Terzić before making that claim.
And as for Atlético… their new signing Lee showed exactly why they paid €35 million for him. That brilliant pass completely exposed and paralysed our defence. It also shows that top teams can cope with missing players like Álvarez, Le Normand, etc.
Take a deep breath and calm down a little… sorry. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

In the build up to the play, it was the pass from Cucurella to Espi that was offside, not the cross from Vini. I was questioning the same when I saw it live, but after seeing the review, it was the proper call.

They weren’t over-respected. Barrios was simply given a red carpet by Guridi, while the Castrín & Salas pairing cannot command a backline.

Extremely poor logic.

Real Madrid’s quality difference vs Betpiss is much larger than ours vs. Pathetico. We should have taken at least a point at home, period.

Excuses are for losers.

Meanwhile 37 year old Aubameyang wrecking havoc with Depor. Goals and assists every game.

Killing it! That is a team with ambition!

Maybe I should have changed my prediction to Barca winning the league instead of Real. They seem to be unstoppable… and the way they are playing make me dread the day they run into us and our defence. I guess we can hope they wear themselves out a little bit.

Barca looking incredible as they add to Valencia misery. 1 point in four games for them will be adding a lot of stress for the start of their season. Thank god we won our two openers (possibly with some favorable/controversial decisions) or that would be us. Let’s get another three points today and hopefully can see some of the new guys play well.

We had a Valencia fan here I think it was @JohnV not sure.

Curious to know what he thinks of their situation as of now. Obviously still early but I have a slight feeling that they will be battling in the red zone this season.

Hello, Shendm. Total disaster. The transfer window wasn’t even that bad (it was the first time in 5 years we were net spenders) and I’d have given it 6/10. Right back was significantly strengthened with the addition of Maffeo and Arnau Martinez, while Sato came from the Japanese league and looks a good prospect. Adding a defender and a forward would have made it better, but it’s more or less the same squad that finished 9th last season. The long-term problem is always the ownership, who always seem to only want to do the bare minimum. The short-term problem is the coach. The style of football is dull, plodding and overly defensive. The ownership, manager and team all seem to have the same problem: only reacting and waking up when the team is in trouble. The coach isn’t getting the best out of the team, attack isn’t working, defence isn’t working, no players are improving. He seems to have fallen out with several players (Duro, Gaya and Dani Raba), doesn’t trust the youth and has lost the confidence of both the dressing room and fans. Relegation is a possibility if it continues this way, yep. Probably more likely is that he’s sacked in the coming months, the board adds a couple of players in January and the team limps to its usual mediocre mid-table finish. The new stadium will be finished next year so hopefully that leads to a sale and a change of ownership, because that’s the only way the dynamic changes.

Sevilla have started better than expected and now is a really good time to play Valencia.

Under Corberan, Valencia have become a meme against Barcelona. The dead rubber game at the end of last season did finish Valencia 3-1 Barcelona (who cares?) but the other 4 under Corberan have been:

Barcelona 7-1 Valencia
Valencia 0-5 Barcelona
Barcelona 6-0 Valencia
Valencia 0-5 Barcelona

Pathetic.
