Poor goal to concede defensively backing off and giving their player too much time on the ball and I think Vlacho could have done better with his positioning. That said, he redeemed himself with a fine save to deny Elche a second.
Thought we ended the half strongly with a great long range effort from Mendy and Sow denied by a good save from their keeper, although I feel he should have scored.
I’ve seen enough to think we can get back into this game but then equally we look suspect defensively and Elche could easily finish us off.
Honestly that half sums us up. We actually played well there. Created chances and controlled large spells of the game.
However, we lack cutting edge and couldn’t finish our dinner. To wasteful and then we give a sloppy goal away.
We were great until it came 2 both boxes where we lack quality to score and defend transition.

Sow, Isaac, mendy all had chances. Very frustrating but it why we fighting relegation currently.

Our keeper made a great save to keep it 1-0 too. Thank god for that.
It all seems so hopeless and frustrating. We need a miracle. Or some revelations like when Isaac made his first appearances. I just can’t, for the life of me, point my finger on the players who can manage that.
Its easy to sit here and say what works and what doesnt but my issue is that when we get the Ball, we dont go forward with purpose or speed. We just stop and play backwards. This team is better made for counter football than possession, so why not use it?
Make players run in the box rather than passing ir around constantly. Play direct. Go for goal. Its not rocket science. This team just need to do simple stuff right now.
The issues are way more than just the coach, but he is the face of the team. Its his job to get the best out of what he has even though we can all see the real issue at this club, the coach has to do more. Nobody expect us to be top 6 or 8, but this is inacceptable. These players are better than 16th place. Almeyda’s tactics doesnt work. So while it wont change in the long term, sacking him now would perhaps give that instant change and results that is needed to survive the season.
Relegation would be catastrophic and would send this club into the abyss.
