La Liga 25/26 - Matchday 9 - Sevilla FC vs Mallorca

Roberto bitch martinez the tragic figure in defense.

I knew since Azpi came out injured that wr’ll have trouble in that part of defense

Wow. Football is crazy. Beat Barca 4-1. Now losing 1-2 to Mallorca who haven’t took an away point and bottom! Mad game

What did Martinez have to do with it?

Didn’t really close down the cross very aggressively.

Wooooooow

embarrassing.

Nr 22 should never play for Sevilla again

Football for you. Wow 1-3 Mallorca. Talk about back down to earth.

Joseph is going to be a really great player.

He’s the weak link in defense, seeing it live how he’s messing the whole line and system up

Poor positioning and low defense iq

We missed Azpil since he got injured.

Sorry but this is a bad take. Not that he’s had a good game, obviously not. But first goal was Carmona fault, second januzaj. He’s 22 and got dumped in at the last second.

just find this type of overreaction silly. Bad game but mostly was screwed by other people doing dumb shit.

Agreed.

Instead of a comfortable 1-0 win we screw it up in defense and go on to lose 3-1 to a pathetic mallorca, at fucking home

Shameful

You’re looking it from an individual perspective, I’m talking system. Almeyda’s sevilla is about system , especially in defense. One thing goes wrong = everything goes wrong. It’s just how it is.

Ramon martinez simply didn’t fit in the system and screwed it up for everyone else. Then one simple mistake from the individuals you mentioned above, and we concede.

This wouldn’t have happened with Azpi. We made much more mistakes vs Barca but Azpi fitted the system perfectly and the defense neutralized the threats that came from our mistakes.

Simple as that

You could argue though that it was Almeyda’s fault for not subbing in someone else or making changes within the squad on the pitch when Azpi got injured

Terrible result. We are much better countering than in possession so this was going to be a tough one.

Great good points.

you also said he should never play again. And I pointed out he’s a 22 year old who got chucked in the deep end.

Seeing the match live and especially in second half where I saw nr 22 all the time from close helped me realize this much clearer

Totally disastrous second half. We completely collapsed. Brought crashing back down to earth today I’m afraid.
