The effect it has had on Carmona being pushed slightly away from the area where his defensive and passing errors wonât have the same direct consequences and the fact that he seems to be riding on this success is very nice to see.

Vlacho, Azpi, Marcao, Suazo and Cardoso = absolute rocks.
Januzaj sparked the match up a bit with dribbling and Akor sealed the win with a nice shot and goal.
Almeyda is turning the team into a cynical one, delaying gratification and fighting hard for points. This is what we terribly needed for all these years.
Hopefully we can keep the defense healthy and keep competing.
Golden 3 points away against a tough rival.

A win is a win no matter how we achive it. But we looked so disjointed at times today. We couldnât even get the basics right giving the ball away with misdirected passes, just lumping the ball anywhere without trying to find a Sevilla player.
A major improvement is required for next week otherwise we will be slaughtered.
With Nyland in goal we would have lost 3-1.

Now imagine if Cordon wouldâve focused a bit more on the squad depth and quality vs. money for the board.
Heard that we will still need to sell in January, and honestly, itâs ok if we sell Juanlu at this point.
However, we need at least 2 reinforcements in January.
Both reinforcements in defense to keep up the engine, we canât expect Azpi and Suazo to play at this level throughout the season, and I fear one change in the defensive structure and weâre fucked.

Massive win. True grit shown there to survive their waves after wave attack. Then we showed great quality for the goal. We rode our luck a lot but credit to defence and keeper.

I think thatâs what they call a smash and grab. A huge away win against a tough opponent even if we love playing them, especially with Barca up next. That gives us some breathing space and for me itâs a free hit against them.
We stole that from Rayo who had by far the better of the game and chances but Vlacho in goal was superb and constantly thwarted them with some great saves. I too think we would have lost if Nyland played. We also created nothing before the goal.
That said, we defended resiliently and in many ways that was the perfect away win. A winner of the highest quality also. Great ball into the box from Carmona and a super finish from Adams for his first goal for us!
The win moves us to 8th for now and onto 10 points from 7 games which is a very respectable start (has to be one of our best for a while) and maybe a quarter of the way to safety also if you go off the golden 40 target. Nine of the points have come away from home which is incredible. Almeyda doing a great job so far and all the new signings have done well. Proving a lot of us wrong I have to say!

Big win away in Vallecas. Quite the smash and grab! Vlachodimos made some great saves, with that double save off the speculative shot being top billing. Feel like Almeydaâs brought a bit of steel and resilience to the team, despite the shaky defence.

I just read an interesting statistic that Akor Adamsâs goal this week was the first time a striker brought in by Victor Orta actually scored a goal in LaLiga.
