Fuck yes! Use this ffs.
Needed that! Huge goal!
Great from Alexis and nice finish by Peque!
Gotta push till the final whistle!
Isaac scores again, but ruled off again.
Thatās a hat trick for Isaac. Some great finishes, but sadly only one has counted
Whoa Alexis is on the team? Thatās awesome!!!
4 times in the back of the net for Isaac tonight, wow. I really REALLY want these three points, but even without them, glad to see Isaac back creating danger and doing what he needs to do with the ball.
Iāll take it! Not the best but not worst either.
Elche has had a decent start to the season and I think we have all faced the fact that we just need to be better than the three worst teams. So in that regard it is a point won.
What a frantic end to the game. Entertaining to watch!
i think a draw was about right. Both teams had their spells and I think thatās a fair result.
Elche unbeaten for a reason so I donāt think thatās a bad point in the end.
Isaac quadruple
if it werenāt for offsides/fouls.
Positives: we didnāt lose at home against Elche and played a good first half
Negatives: Iām afraid we have a team that would even struggle to get promoted to La Liga from Segunda. Segunda material team at best, anything we get is punching above the weight.
Thank you board, management and all the fuckers involved with decision making!
The positives were Isaac, Vargas, Mendy, alfon, Marcao and Nianzou. I thought all had good games.
Isaac was brilliant and looked like Isaac of old that played with YEN.
We still struggled defensively and in midfield at times. It not a bad point though. We move on.
A very entertaining game I agree. It must have been even better for the neutral!
A very strange game also. Every time one team was on top the other scored out of the blue.
Made for great entertainment though, especially for the neutral like you say. I saw enough from Elche to think theyāll do okay and you have to hand it to Rafa, a great free kick from him. Just a shame he couldnāt do that for us.
I too feel that Marcao and Nianzou had decent games and if they can stay fit, they can be an upgrade for us in defence. Mendy looked very solid in midfield and had a promising debut. Great to see Isaac back to somewhere near his best with a very well taken goal and never stopped running and making a nuisance of himself. Unlucky not to have scored more.
There are plenty of positives to take despite the defensive issues weāve got and at times lacking in the midfield. A lot of new signings though and it will take time for them to settle down. Four points from four to start the season isnāt a disaster!
A win is better than a loss but we will have to take it one game at a time. It would have been a bad result before but there were a lot of debuts tonight and the manager is still only four matches in. So maybe a draw tonight against a seemingly in form team isnt terrible although i wasnt able to watch it. Can someone explain why Nianzou was taken off, was it another injury?
Mendy was the best in the pitch for us imo. Top signing. Others⦠so so
Nianzou Looked like he had a touch of cramp to me. Plus he had just been booked, so maybe saving him getting a 2nd yellow
Just caught the replay. The draw left me with a bittersweet feeling. I know weāre limited, but i always want the win, especially at home. Elche weāre giving the ball away too much for us not to punish them more than we did. But the lack of quality in a few areas ensured we didnāt.
I did see some promising things. I like that Almeyda tried the back-3 cause our defence is begging for it. Marcao & Nianzou play with such a presence that youāre always reminded what our defence is supposed to look like. Tanguy was a little too eager at times, which he often does whenever he comes back, cause he genuinely misses playing. We dealt with Elcheās threats in the 1st half, but we couldnāt do enough on the other end. We offered nothing from the flanks. Juanlu didnāt have a good game going forward, and Alfon was simply playing out of position at left wingback.
I already like what i seen from Mendy. I think he can be a great compliment to Agoume. He plays with awareness, anticipates well, takes care of the ball, and can move swiftly in tight spaces. There were moments in that 2nd half, after Alexis came on, that the ball was circulating at a quicker rate than normal. I can only hope to see a triangle of Suazo-Mendy-Alfon on the left side on a regular basis.
I agree 100%. It will depend A LOT on player fitness, cause that back-3 of Azpi, Nianzou & Marcao could be the only time we ever see them play together this season. Like @Niller said, Azpi got real slow as the game wore on, so perhaps heāll be used sparingly. Maybe until we can integrate our other CBs in Cardoso, Castrin & Salas.
Weāre only talking about his hair right? The blonde looks good on him. The ball at this feet tho? Hell no.
And lastly, was that Vargas getting injured yet again?? Weāre already thin on attacking options after 4 matches. I have faith Almeyda can make something work with whoās available, but that means relying on players who, last year, either werenāt here (Alfon & Akor), or others who didnāt perform (Peque, Isaac).
Not sure if there are clauses allowing or not allowing players to play against their parent clubs but Rafa Mir scoring against us felt like destiny. His celebration will ensure his last season will not be wearing the red and white of Sevilla, by any means.
Couldnāt watch the game but judging from your observations Issac was being aggressive and the defense was half decent. I think this sets the blueprint of how the older guard are used, Azp is there for experience but should not be expected to play 90 minutes every week, Alexis is an impact player when the team is chasing the draw or the win. Solid use of the lot and something viable to see out this season of transition, if only a backup left back can be sorted out.
