Verdict from that!
If lukebakio stays fit we stay up again hopefully with bit to spare.
If lukebakio gets a long term injury we get relegated.
Unless we bring new players of quality in. We are totally dependent on lukebakio to spark us into action just like last season.

Why?
He only started playing at around 55th minute in the second half. First half he was non existent… it was as if he was playing with a gun to his head, forcing him to do so. 0 motivation, 0 blood.
Good thing for us that he decided to roll up the sleeves and start playing at that time.

We played well in the second half and I felt we did enough to deserve a draw from the game. Defence let us down again I’m afraid. Realistically it was always going to be tough away at Athletic with our current situation and we very nearly nicked a point so don’t think we can be too critical.
Getafe at home next is the kind of game we need to be winning.

Athletic backed off and totally let us back into that match. I missed the 1st half, so i’ll need a rewatch, but that cheap winning goal is what i’m used to seeing with this defense. Didn’t even make Bilbao pressure us into conceding. Pathetic.

Gudelj is not a professional footballer, we were playing with 1 man down the whole time with him on the pitch.
Then came Januzaj… 2 men down.
Cordon, wake the fuck up and sell the clowns, get a DM, a CB, a striker (back-up to Adams) and a true RB or we’re relegated for good.

That’s true but he’s been carrying this team on his back for months now. The guy basically kept us in the top flight on his own and he tried his best in 2nd half today. We have too many poor players though.

I agree. I didn’t think Athletic club were great at all. They had a terrible pre season losing 6 of 7 and didn’t look ready for start of season.
We got screwed with the penalty but the other goals were poor goals to concede. We played better 2nd half but they let us back in too. We scored 2 great goals but basically the spark came from Dodi again.
He’s the man with the goals and playmaker. He steps up even when things look hopeless. We can’t keep relying on but unless we improve squad it where we are.
At least we fought 2nd half and showed some good stuff. We got to try take those positives into getafe game but Lukebakio must stay fit at all costs!

Dodi decided to stay in order to play regularly and cement his place in the Belgium NT for the WC 2026.
He refused offers from $audi and all that… but he needs to play here for the 90 mins.
No excuses to start playing from the 60th minute, because the guy is a gem, and we really need him.
Sure, I feel sorry for him in that way that he doesn’t have a similar-skilled pair, but he needs to play regardless, and give his best.
Often Messi had piss poor players around him but still played his best…

Getafe is already a huge game. They got a great win this weekend so won’t be easy. We have to be better in defence because this current defence leaks goals meaning we need to score 2 or 3 to even get a result.
A big game and need to respond. We won this game last season so have to try to again.
