Really Pleased with this performance. We are still lacking in some areas, but the team was pretty solid and so important for confidence. Peque was the stand out player but the last 20 minutes a man down we wanted it more.

Big victory after a fractious game. Fantastic goal from Navas, worthy of the winner. Nyland’s long distribution was useful on the counter attack following Getafe set pieces. Despite some early lapses, the defence held on as Getafe grew into game later on
Hopefully with Saul back, there’ll be a bit more play through midfield. Good to see Peque get a game, I like his ability on the ball and think he could become the number 10 we’ve been looking for.

I thought we showed quality and a lot of character/heart too. We deserved to win that and navas goal was a peach. Lukebakio unlucky at the end as well. They were restricted to very little. A good team performance.

The one thing that is crystal clear is that Lukebakio should have been on the field earlier, he knew how to manage the game in the circumstances late on and he can do so much for the attack. Still a lot of work to do to get this squad in shape for these games. We are a bit lucky that Getafe were so tame. That’s how it goes, a team grows into the level of the competition step by step.
