Now 5-1
Terrible
Shameful
5-1 FT. A game to forget.
Letās hope our other match in Barcelona on Friday is more positive.
Only positivesā¦
I hope Sambi stays healthy this time around. We need that kind of composure in midfield.
Idumbo getting his first goal. Despite injuries to Ejuke & Suso, heās still behind in the pecking order since Pimienta likes to play Dodi on the left. But at least Stanis has shown something worth considering.
Weāre in Catalunya again on Friday, but less likely to be served a manita vs Espanyol. Easy to tell players to forget about this game, but they need to remember the intensity they went up against tonight. We need to get back to that. Onto to the next.
Nyland is Ok on the blocks but useless on the saves where he has to fling himself a metre or two. The game is a useful learning experience for the youngsters, you canāt really send them to Barcelona and expect anything, Sevilla should progress after that but as I said earlier I just wanted no reds and no injuries, Ejuke is a major problem now.
I forecasted 4-0 in the Friday night piss-up at the local bar.
Watched the game earlier on TV. A poor game for you guys, but letās be realistic, a win at Barcelona is always a tall order. La Liga has set it up to favour a few teams and screw everyone else. Nyland was relatively good, despite conceding and Idumbo took his goal well. There can be complaints but looking from the outside, youāre in a rebuilding phase and only 3 points from 7th.
You forgot to include āno phantom penaltiesā
Good Morning.
Better forget the night.Barca isnāt our Scale(?)
Sad with Ejuke.
Coach give us Stanis Friday.
Spot on.
Seems strange to say but I didnāt think we were that bad.
Played well in spells, especially the first 20 mins when if Lukebakio scores that goal and the soft pen wasnāt given, maybe we would be looking at a different game.
We showed some promise on the break and counter with some fast play that ultimately led to Idumboās goal. We got in behind a few times and letās remember the only goal Barca had conceded previously at home was a pen against Athletic.
The game that really matters is Friday and letās hope for a positive result.
Great post!
Ejuke out for three months.
"Ejuke has suffered a high-grade hamstring injury while Suso has suffered a low-grade thigh injury. "
Was thinking about the interesting fact that yesterday as Navas relived his LaLiga Debut which happened at Montjuic, Muzambo gets his goal scoring debut at LaLiga. Really hoping against hope that the loss of Ejuke could spell a great silver lining of forcing Stanis to step up! Hoping heās the Isaac Romero of this season!
A really sad game for more than just the 5-1 loss. I just hope we donāt suffer anymore injuries as our squad is light as it is. Hopefully we can get back on track vs Espanyol. Vamos!
Headline of the article gives a scarier panorama than the actual write-up, which for me personally actually made me feel decent that there are some options available to GP to fill the Ejuke gap. Of course, surely not someone who is going to improve on Ejuke, but at least a couple options like JuanLu or Barco who could definitely make some magic happen under the right circumstances. And honestly, both of those gentsā weakest role is defending, so moving them forward could actually allow either of them to shine.
Am I off track? Anyone with dissenting views?
I would opt for Barco. His willingness to play inside can give us unique options in attack. It makes sense defensively, and works well with Pedrosaās overlaps.
The fact Pimienta didnāt switch Lukebakio to the left in the BarƧa game gives me hope that he wants to keep him in that RW role. In the past, itās been Navas on the right & Dodi on the left.
The margin of defeat plus Ejuke injured.

The fact that BarƧa also beat Bayern 4-1 makes me feel MUCH better about our 5-1 thrashing on Sunday.
