VAR should look at this. McBurnie deserves a red as I’m seeing the replay…you can’t take down the keeper that agressively in any professional setting…
9 mins of injury time… urghh..
Antonetti needs to do better there. I understand trying to score your first goal but you cannot blow that chance
already up to 10 mins…
Ref just gesticulated something about 2 more minutes…not sure if that’s up to 12 or 11 minutes of added time…
We needed that! Vamos!
Salvation!!! We are staying up!!!
Sevilla es de PRIMERA.
Wow that was so nervy. We are staying up!!!
Vamos!!!
Happy to see Caparros smiling and sharing some cheers with the fans at the end of the game.
Tomorrow’s Villarreal v Leganes match is also huge. If Leganes picks up 3 points there (or even one point, tbh)…we’re still going to have a nervous Matchday 37 and 38 to suffer through.
Vamos Villarreal!
I’d be very surprised if 41 points wasn’t enough.
Wow, nervy but we did enough!
It takes a crazy set of results to go against us now. We safe in my view but of course let’s hope Villarreal win just to end the uncertainty and suffering for good.
It’s 13th May and this was the first home win of the year. It took us “just” nine matches at RSP
Yeah fingers crossed Villareal win and we can go into a tough last two games knowing we’re safe for sure.
True. I agree with what @RyanMoore said. Due to the easier fixtures leganes and Alaves have left we want to be mathematically safe before last 2 games.
As if leganes get a point tomorrow or win tomorrow then we still can’t rest. As they could be facing already relegated Valladolid and Las Palmas are almost relegated and I think are if alaves win tomorrow.
We need to root for Villarreal and Valencia too. Obviously it Villarreal that is the game because they win it over.
We just don’t want to get to Real Madrid match still nervously looking at other games and thinking we may still need a point.
However, we above getafe and espanyol too and won’t be easy for them to overtake us. More teams in the mix and below us.
Leganes need 7 points, Alaves need 2 out of 3 wins, getafe need a win and espanyol need a win. All that has to happen and we have to lose both to go down. Can’t see it so feeling so much better now.
Of course it still possible but I think too much in our favour now and we may even get something against Madrid after that win and them with less to play for. We will see.
Caparrós celebrations at the end were pure passion and joy. The man breeds Sevillismo! Amazing scenes!
It was cool seeing all the Sevilla fans in red. The Sevilla fans always do things like this for big games and same for previous European nights. A great night and the fans, players and coaching staff all played a part in a big win.
Didn’t watch the match live, but saw the highlights today.
It seems that Suso actually made a huge difference, and Pascal’s goal resembles Rodri’s goal against Almeria when we needed the 3 points for CL next season at the time. Though Rodri’s was surely more epic because of the ‘last minute’ factor, but the relevance sadly is the same.
Just imagine, we were once fighting for CL spots, often comfortably reaching them, while now we’re fighting to stay up. Totally disgraceful.
The fans, players and everyone celebrated as if we won La Liga, but it’s just a victory in the relegation battle - which is still not 100% settled, depending on what Leganes will do. Our last 2 matches are very difficult and my expectations are super low.
As for Antonetti’s miss, it was very normal and natural. In front of that crow, with his little experience in La Liga and with the club… very very normal and expected. His sprint leading up to the chance was nice though.
Anyway, back to reality. Might be another season in La Liga, but just as the 4th place finishes with Lopetegui, it can easily be a ‘pyrrhic victory’ as it will shift the focus from actually rebuilding, to maintaining.
I already read rumors about getting the Alaves sporting director as a replacement for Orta. So we’re heading the Alaves (or mediocre club way) it seems? It’s a golden rule in life, if you aim low, you’ll often end up beneath that.
We never aimed high since the Emery era, always maintaining… always struggling, and always with full frustration throughout the season.
Enough is enough!
