Red for Lukebakio was harsh. You looked so flat after that and out of ideas in attack. The future isn’t good if he leaves in summer. You aren’t the only supporters who wonder if relegation might be a blessing in disguise to get rid of sh!t ownership. Spoiler: it isn’t. It would make things much worse on the financial front. Segunda is also easy to go down to but not so easy to come back from. Malaga and Zaragoza are currently fighting for their lives to avoid dropping to the 3rd level. Deportivo de La Coruña and Gijon have languished there for years. Gijon did get new ownership after going down but it hasn’t helped. They narrowly avoided relegation 2 seasons ago and are closer to the relegation zone this season.
There was but we need more than fight to get safe. We need someone to step up in the absence of Lukebakio against leganes. It going to be a nervous watch for sure.
I still think Pimienta was harshly dismissed. The players knew his methods and he got us to 36 points and few points clear of drop. We did lose 4 in a row but to difficult opposition and the matches were close.
Let’s see how it goes but I hope we don’t regret that decision. I would hate it to go wrong for caparros and we actually go down with him when we were 14th I think when Pimienta was sacked. I just hope caparros is okay health wise too due to him living with leukaemia too.
We have a break now and let’s see what happens against leganes. A huge cup final coming up.
I agree sadly. If the worst happens history shows not many bounce straight back. It more common in my country in England but less so in Spain. As you say we seen some massive clubs go down and never return or take ages to return. It can happen though as we seen some clubs bounce back but considering our financial ruin it would be very tough.
It will be awful and crippling if it happens but the board would more likely be removed, step aside or sell. It would force their hand more but considering Sevilla’s financial crisis situation of about 300 million in debt it would kill us. It scary to think about and we only 5 points away from that possible nightmare occurring.
These 2 home games against leganes and Las Palmas are the biggest games this football club has arguably had in 25 years since last time we got promoted.
Obviously it might not beat the best European nights, copa del Rey success, supercup successes but in terms of club importance it right at the top. We have to turn up and although most the fans despise this board they have try let it go just for these matches. To prevent the worst thing happening to this club in over 25 years.
I don’t know the deal with these two. For Saul, i think it’s still what he said weeks ago about not recovering well after the injury. He would technically be coming as a free agent this summer, and now we’re wondering, do we even want him?
On the other hand, Sow makes some good plays, but he isn’t consistent. Often doesn’t add anything to the game. The spark has to be generated elsewhere. It’s 2 seasons now where the loaned midfielder outshines him. It was Soumare last year, and now Lokonga, who’s likely out for the season after being injured again.
I’m thankful that Agoume is seeing some regular minutes, cause he’s gonna need his game to evolve. He’s still looking very average to me, but it’s also judging from a smaller sample of matches. Still a better option than the current #6.
If there’s any positive takeways from today’s match, I’d like to see Juanlu on the field more. And in that same role again, because Carmona does not provide any dynamism up the pitch.
And lastly, how is Idumbo not seeing any game time?
I really am worried about relegation now. The home games against Leganes and Las Palmas are massive as I am struggling to see us get anything against Celta, Real and Villareal. I think even one win might be enough though to take us on 40.
Last night we fought hard with ten men and could have nicked a vital point but just didn’t have enough quality. The free kick for their goal I thought was soft and it was well taken but Nyland for me could have done better with his positioning.
The Lukebakio red card was harsh for me and I thought a yellow was enough. I can’t believe they didn’t go to the screen for that one. The Osasuna red being overturned was the right decision for me but it was still clear that VAR and the ref was on their side.
A huge blow losing Lukebakio, who is by far our best player, for such an important game and the team will really have to step up now and find a way.
