Two news agencies are declaring that Pimienta is gone and Caparrós is the new trainer.
They just posted it on Instagram
I was in RSP when Caparros was Coach 2018 or 2019.
Welcome Back Caparros:)
I feel sorry for the next guy already. Hopefully they’re happy to work with what we’ve got (left).
This board are so incompetent. They gave Pimienta a long contract just weeks/couple of months into his management and now decide to sack him.
They have to pay off his contract and sink us further into debt.
We all love Capparos but he’s ancient now and been out the game along time. This was an umbrella move from the board to try calm the Sevilla fans down appointing a former Sevilla legend who breeds sevillismo.
It is a short term fix to try motivate team and calm the atmosphere but I don’t think the fans are going to stop and they can see the board are using him for their own gain.
Another manager within 3 years. I lost count now but let’s just hope we crawl over the line to safely but we need big changes at this club in summer.
Facts, it’ll still be “Junior vete ya” all day.
Shit ownership hated by the fans, fan protests, debt problems, best players sold every summer, no money to sign players, changes of coach every season.
All you guys need is an East Asian owner and your journey to “Valencia tribute act” will be complete. In Caparros, you even have a version of Valencia’s Voro who’s had something like 5 caretaker spells.
Problem is, the way forward isn’t easy. The only magic quick fix is finding an investor who’ll put up the cash to improve the squad and those aren’t easy to find especially when there are other clubs with less debt they can buy. Is there anyone local? Otherwise you have to gamble on foreign owners and as Valencia and Malaga have shown, that can make things worse. The slow fix is taking a few seasons to slowly pay off the debt by selling talents every summer, crossing fingers you can find a 1st era Monchi-style sporting director and a promising coach and hoping academy players come good to plug the gaps. That tests the patience of fans but on the plus side, a lot of other clubs are in the same boat, Sevilla is a bigger name and you’ll only need a couple of reasonable seasons to get back on track.
Mbappe will only serve a 1-match ban for his sending off yesterday for a dangerous tackle in which he made no attempt to play the ball, could have broken the guy’s leg and even ended his career. Reminder that Fernando got a 4-match ban for calling the ref a son of a bytch and Gayà of Valencia also missed 4 matches for saying about a ref after a game “They do what they want, he saw it and didn’t want to whistle”.
Good to see La Liga have their priorities right.
I was watching Valencia with some interest in the first half of the season, they didn’t seem to warrant the low position, they were doing lots of things right, working hard, recovering lots of possession in midfield, getting penty of attacks. They just weren’t scoring enough. I reached the conclusion it was just a goalscoring problem with poor crosses contributing to the lack of goals. What’s changed in 2025?
Almost entirely down to the coach since Sadiq is the only winter addition of note, the other 2 barely play. Baraja got by for a while rallying the troops as a club legend (“let’s do it for the badge, lads”) but he got found out eventually as he was tactically limited and inflexible and the attacking plan never went much past “pass to Gayà, cross and hope.” Corberán looks like a proper coach, with tactical ideas and solid defence. The elephant in the room remains, similar to Sevilla, the ownership, who are short-termist and clueless and with them it’s just going to be constant cost cutting, selling best players each summer and hoping to avoid relegation. Rumours for a while of a sale to CR7 in partnership with Saudis, but I’ll believe that when I see it.
Bloody hell! Las Palmas have nicked a late winner.
We simply can’t lose to alaves! If we do it really will be squeaky bum time. A nervy match tomorrow but we have to find a way
