Expected Atletico to win this! They back to 3rd, but at least we still level with them and in decent position. While 3rd would be a bonus, as long as we in top 4 that’s all that matters. 3rd likely will go to Atletico in end.

I don’t understand how Atletico go above us.
We drew 1-1 at home and 2-2 away. So by my reckoning we should be still 3rd??

I guess they mustn’t count away goals. Therefore it goes down to goal difference which they lead by +4.

Yes you are correct. Just found this.
“La Liga differs from some other leagues in that teams’ head-to-head records are used to separate them if they are equal on points. Whichever team has the best goal difference in the two matches will be placed highest if the points are equal. If head-to-head goal difference is the same, goal difference over the entire season is used then goals scored”.

Our old man Kongdobia helps us a bit by keeping Valencia off the board. 
Need 3 points against the next three! We beat Valladolid away. Won against Leganes at home and fell apart to Eibar in the second half at their post stamp of a stadium.

Celta draw Barca after an unbelievable free kick by our former man Iago Aspas. Nolito had a chance to win it with an open net and he hit it straight to Ter Stegen.

Looks like Villareal are going to win. Hoping that Sociedad and Getafe can draw later.
The gap is closing though and in form Villareal are the biggest concern. We urgently need to win the next two games against Leganes and Eibar.

Not surprising, they haven’t won it since 2018 and are an unknown for the Champions League, can’t let the best team in the universe go on a trophy drought for 2 years in a row 
It’s not often that I want Betis to win, in fact almost never. Same goes for Real Madrid, but they could do us a great favour today and tomorrow against Villarreal and Getafe.
It would put some clear blue water between Sevilla and the pretenders behind.
