I don’t think there was ever any doubt that the players love him.
If he does stay, he’s going to have a very short leash in the eyes of most supporters.

I’m sure they tried to that with Mourinho at Spurs, grabbing a highly rated coach from Lille (?) and that didn’t work at all.
