Munir off, Martial on 75th
I really like what i’ve seen from Tecatito so far. A more classic winger with power and an eager to get forward and make something happen.
In other news: Mark Noble is still playing football. Feel like he has been around since forever.
Ludwig for JCT9
Mir finally on for YEN. Maybe he can grab our second.
Moyes making his 30 second sub.
Decent part 1. Finish it next week.
Vamos mi Sevilla
We stepped it up 2nd half. Very good performance and deserved win in the end.
I love seeing the sevilla fans jumping at the end. Amazing passion!
Another clean sheet for Bono and this makeshift defense. Let’s hope for 100% return next week and we can dominate and kill it.
Mir should’ve come in the same time as Martial - Lope is clearly not trusting him and waiting for YEN to get back in form, which the latter is taking his sweet time to do so.
Fair play. Lope listened to me at half time and the performance was much better from an attacking sense.Thought we dominated the second half.
Brilliant goal from Munir and we could easily have got a second.
The only negative is it’s only one goal and West Ham definitely still in the tie, but a win is a win and you’d rather that than anything else obviously!
Big away performance needed to finish the job now! Vamos!
we completely outplayed another English team but Joe Cole still “expects West Ham to finish the job back in London”
I absolutely hate english pundits
That’s one of the best second half effort in months. Can’t remember the last time we have more than 20 shot.
A pity we didn’t have better finishing for a second.
West Ham looks like max out their skill point on duel and physics but skip creativity completely.
A couple of things about the match.
First it was a well-deserved first leg win in general, but as Jim said a 2-0 lead would’ve been much more comfortable going into the second leg. It’s still all to play for in London.
West Ham had their moments, but except for the first half where things were a bit more balanced, we totally annihilated them in the second half. In fact, our second half performance was one of the best so far this season. A pity we didn’t score at least 1 more… but oh well.
I expect us to go through after next week’s match, but it can be tricky as we don’t usually play like this away. I think we still need at least 1 goal to go through as I’m afraid we’ll concede one there. Btw, did Ocampos get that yellow on purpose? He’ll miss the next match and he has probably set sights on the next round already but that’s a dumb yellow if it wasn’t on purpose. With Martial back we can breathe a bit easier there, also Munir did very well for how he almost always looks like he won’t at first, lol - great set up from Acuna for the goal there.
The ref was brilliant… only if we had this kind of ref all the time. He did amazing in overall, hats off to the ref tonight.
Worried a bit about Navas and Bono, hopefully nothing too bad to keep them away from action. Bono is a fucking legend… we should renew his contract with a 200 million Euros clause or something.
Anyway, on to Rayo on Sunday! VAMOS!
I honestly expected much better from West Ham but they don’t differ from Wolves of 2 seasons ago at all. Always looking for the counters, no flowing football, overboard physical… not quite impressive there.
I’ll check over at their forums on what they have to say after tonight.
Yeah I think West Ham will be grateful to come away only one goal down after that second half. It’s the only disappointment as it makes for a nervy second leg.
I hope we can get an early goal to calm the nerves and get that two goal advantage. I think we will suffer and have to ride a bit of a storm as I don’t think we’re always that convincing away from home, but I’d back us to do the job. You can always rely on our defence, we don’t concede many and hopefully a few players back by then!
Great job today, very good performance with players that we had. I was impressed with Gudelj and Kounde connection, much much better than on friday in the league. For next week, it is crucial who will be able to play. Ocampos is out, Delaney will play, can anyone come back? Maybe DC or Fernando?
Barca held to a goalless draw at home to Galatasaray tonight. Makes our result look even better.
I’d expect Martial to start, he seemed quite ready - DC might be back by next Thursday too.
