Leverkusen way more likeable than AS Roma and generally Italian clubs in my opinion, probably more dangerous as well but that’s fine for me. Also Mourinho response to Feyenoord not that mature but what’s new… anyway we have to pass another big fish first.

That was some magical night. In more than 10yrs of attending the RSP I have never experienced anything like it.
From around half an hour before kick off you just knew we were going to do it, the noise not only from the nth goal but from the whole stadium even during the warm up was deafening.
Once the game started it cranked up even higher and never let up, I’m sure it stopped them settling down and played a part in the mistake for the 1st goal, once that went in there was no doubt at all we were going to win.

Tremendous exhibition by Sevilla, great tribute to Puerta’s father where fans congregated and sang outside his house. Also before the game, fans in the stadium warmed up their voices much earlier than usual, good preparation.
The atmosphere probably more electric than the Shalke semi-final in 2006. The planets just lined up for us, we never stopped but we stopped Manchester dead in their tracks. Manchester looked toothless up front and disorganized at the back but what could they do against a perpetual onslaught.
Sevilla totally unleashed now and I want to see this every week in la liga. I might even start going to the stadium again.

For anyone wanting to revel in the joy of Thursday’s match, this video was a lot of fun. I rarely watch these “desde dentro” videos that the team puts out, but this one was worth it
One observation: even Pape Gueye made it onto the field after the match, but no Tecatito. Was bummed to see him not there celebrating with the team.
Where’s Tecatito?
PS - Papu was there but barely seemed to celebrate. Wonder if he knows something we don’t. Or rather, something we’ve been suspecting.

Is he on loan with option to buy? I can’t remember his situation…but he’s been a beast. Such a save to get him in winter. Wondering if Mendilíbar can do something to get Nianzou back up to pace with Badé…

After the defender signed an agreement in principle on New Year’s Eve, the deal has now been sealed and he will join on loan until the end of the season. The club have the option to make the move a permanent one.
