Europa League Mini Tournament 2020

We won every EL final we were in, so we can’t say we perform better with the white or red kit (it’s superstition anyway), but I personally like the red more, especially the dark red as we discussed earlier in the kit thread.

However, we played the whole mini-tournament with the white kit so we should win the cup with the white as well.

Damn Shend, you arrogant twat! How dare you big up our team and target the insecurities of another?! :joy:

They hated what you said. But i don’t fear this team either. Of course they’re capable, but i seen them lose too many big games this season to be worried.

The reality is, both teams have grown during this tournament, and it should be a good match.

They are confidence because they think they’re really good but they don’t know much about our team.
We are confidence because we know Lukaku is a tank but nowhere as fast as Adama and MU attackers. And they think our defensive is shit just by looking at the MU game but in reality we conceded less than inter in league.

Anyway, Inter defense is organize and good. They can shut Banega and our offense down but I don’t think their offensive are as good as they think.

We have fallen every time for stupid early counters, this is the only thing worrying me. Our field play in possession is better, if it doesn’t get too physical. Jordan needs to have a good game, I can trust Fernando and Banega. But Jordan sometimes just doesn’t realize the consequences of some of the things he does that are way too risky. He really gets on my nerves with risky passes and dribbling with lose touches in the midfield. He has stepped up throughout the season and I’m more happy with him now but now is the day to show his best performance.

I know you guys love him lately so maybe it’s me but I don’t want to be screaming your name in a negative light, my man. Think about your risks, that’s all. Such a crucial position. Venga Jordan! Vamos mi Sevilla!

Towards Inter, as someone who’s not a Serie A lover I don’t have anything against them as a team. The CL they won was a impressive display of team quality. I think playing well defensively and to the strengths of a team takes a lot of skill too (we have done this plenty this season, let’s not forget that). There are multiple ways to play football. It’s not proactive or the most beautiful but you have to have good execution. And when you are behind you are forced to play a unnatural style and the play becomes very forced so it has variance. Also If it wasn’t a useful tactic nature wouldn’t allow vultures, hyenas and other scavengers to exist…

Some more good news, seems like we are qualified for the revamped every-4-year cup world cup to be held in China in 2021. 32 teams in total and 8 teams will be from Europe.
From what I’ve heard, the champion will get 120M usd and every team get pass group stage will get at least 20M usd.

Was about to post this. Another cup to battle for!

That’s obvious sore losers.
The bigger the team, the more sore losers you’ll see. they always try to downplay foreign team and pretend the lose is only due to the referee, conte and certain players they hate, try to avoid praising the opponent.

Now that Sevilla have won the Europa their season opener would be the UEFA super cup against either Bayern or PSG on 24/9. Just a shame that Banega has already gone, could the club negotiate with Al-Shabab to loan him for one more game?

Nevertheless, it’s still a whole month away and if Monchi’s comments that Banega’s replacement has already been signed is true then that player should start that game.

An interesting thought came up after Sevilla lifted the trophy, Oliver Torres did not see the pitch even for one minute from the game against Roma to the final against Inter, I didn’t even see him warming up that much alongside other potential substitutions. Was it because of fit or do Lope and Monchi deem him surplus to requirements in the club.

I found that very interesting. And Mudo was the preferred substitute every time. I think in a tournament setting like that one, you always stick with what’s been working and your preferred strategy. But it’s certainly intriguing, especially with the 5 subs.

Mudo’s ability to hold up the ball might be the reason Lope is bringing him on late in the game. But, he didn’t do that one well either.

Oliver Torres really deserved at least some minutes in each of the game. He also holds the ball well, but hey, it worked with Mudo too as a late sub and we got the trophy.

However, I see Oliver Torres as a contributor in the next season, so I don’t think he’s a surplus, but you never know.
