Copa Del Rey 23/24 - Sevilla FC at Getafe

also aleix garcia was suspended which may give us a slight chance

Isaac showing the more senior strikers how to do it. We may just have found ourselves a goalscorer!

Agree with the comments about our performances away from home. Definitely better recently than at home. Two great away wins at Granada and Getafe. I too think they play with less pressure and more freedom than at the Ramon!

Hopefully we keep that up going into the Girona game and spring a surprise!

Way to get revenge against Getafe. Very much enjoyed how we took our opportunities to score. Good on Isaac to bag his first two goals in an important match.

I liked Sow’s role in our counters, always being the extra body in attack. I also appreciate QSF wanting to put our creative mids like Suso & Oliver in deeper roles to ease our transitions. However i feel we didn’t do enough to support the fullbacks today. Most of their runs led them to dead ends, and Juanlu’s influence started to wane early.

A more trusted cast in defence helped us maintain that lead. Flores had me as nervous as the Vaclik days, but i like how he always opted to go with the safe option as the game wore on. As the others mentioned, it was definitely his nerves that led to those dropped balls, but outside of that he was decent.

QSF played the game right, and was also excellent with his subs. Suso on the inside right helped our creativity, but started to leave us exposed. I need to see more of Agoume, but he was quick with his touches and was always in the right place to shield the defence.

Hope we build on this victory and improve our team chemistry. QSF is slowly starting to find what works as more players return from injury.

Onto Girona for another stern test. :muscle:

Also, i think Ocampos & Isaac works cause Lucas genuinely wants to see him succeed and is not reluctant to set him up. They are both hard workers off the ball, so the mutual respect is there.

Atletico away in the quarters.

It was good while it lasted…

Must be 3-4 yrs since we had cup game at home :frowning_with_open_mouth:
The only worse draw would have been Barca away.

The only thing to be slightly optimistic about is that weirdly enough, our away form has been superb lately.

It will definitely be a tough mission to eliminate Atletico in their own turf, but with the right tactics and approach to the game, we can do that.

I think the team is starting to see the bigger picture, and youngsters are getting the taste of winning and I think that we will start to see more drive and desire to win from them

Bad draw but it could have been real Madrid had they won! Lol

Hard match but in this competition and away from home we playing a bit better and with less pressure. We will see how it goes.

I’d probably say Atleti away is the harder tie this year. Due to Barca being a bit off this season and not playing in their usual nou camp. Atleti have been strong in their stadium all season so it’s as tough as it gets.

I feel our copa del Rey hope and last hopes of European footy next season will die here but you never know with this club. We sometimes produce magic against the odds
