Ball is already out. Can that be a yellow? I guess still dangerous…

But BadĆ© won the ball. This ref is normally good… I thought he was poor tonight.

Two fucking silly fouls from Ramos and a ridiculous hand ball call cost us

RC Lens the real winners here.

We face Arsenal two times, that will be fun.

Crazy match in the second half. Ramos will all the blunders he could make to give away 2 goals…

Lukebakio is a star in the making, amazing performance - set up both our goals!

Other than that, we should’ve won this one and have a calmer mind going forward in the group stages. Now things are beyond complicated…

Ref was crap. That goal from Pedrosa should’ve never been disallowed - he didn’t even look at VAR.

Ramos is clearly only a shadow of his former self - without the unnecessary blunders it should still be enough for him to be a decent CB for us.

I couldn’t believe it. I was screaming at the TV.

Such an up-and-down match, were so near and yet ended so frustrated…
The handball decision against Pedrosa was pathetic from the VAR guy as the his hand was across his body and the ball did not change direction after accidentally hitting him from no more than a meter away.
Thankfully it did not stop us from getting ahead here, but then another dodgy decision when the VAR idiot did not even ask the ref to watch the replay for himself - Ramos pulled his leg away and their player was already falling anyway before he made sure to stick his foot into Ramos’s leg. Albeit Sergio was a bit rash there too.

So annoying that we could not hold out for another two minutes in the end, unnecessary foul from Ramos and maybe for the first time this match our defending was too nervy and weak.

Must win the home tie against PSV and get at least a draw against Arsenal home and away (although if we are really up for it like we were against Man U last season we are capable of beating this Arse team at home),

The VAR guy was crap or a biased Roma fan ;), not so much the ref on the pitch.
If the VAR muppet told the ref he should have a look at a replay himself, he may have made a different decision.

Just stumbled upon this video:

It shows how incompetent and unprofessional the refs can be… both at VAR room, on pitch, then the replay operators etc.

Statistically we got dominated, again. Might be naive given our current situation, but I think we should be able to dominate this game if you compare personnel on paper.

What kind of team are we now anyway? It’s not counter- nor possession-based. It’s not high-press nor absorb-around-the-box. It seems as if they try a little of everything and end up being good at nothing. The only thing we do consistent is locking ourselves up on the wings and pumping out subpar crosses. The team lacks identity and direction. We can blame a silly few seconds of the Referee or Ramos every game, does not change the fact that we should play better the other 89 minutes.

Juanlu was nice again.

No idea. what Dimi has done to upset Mendi but they need to kiss and make up very soon.
Nyland is looking as bad if not worse than Rico. That’s twice in the last two games he’s dropped the ball after fumbling it.
Got caught in two minds tonight whether to come out or stay back that almost cost us.
His punching is weak and his distribution poor. He also dived far too early on the 2 pens he has faced.

What’s your opinion of him Jim?

Oh and Ramos needs to remember he is no longer at r madrid where both the pen and the foul would not have been given.

Exactly. Plus that he took all the trickery, complaining etc. with him from his time at RM, but not his stamina and physical presence lol.

We played well. Great in attack and we created a lot. Well taken goals by Gudelj and YEN.

However, we still suspect in defence and Ramos showing his age. He gave a penalty way and looked uncomfortable all night. I’m not sure he’s up for it anymore and it’s understandable. He might be better as a squad player.

Oh, weird, had no idea either. Will dig up an interview to hear his accent and see if it checks out.

The result was a bitter pill to swallow, knowing we took the lead twice (3 times if you count Pedrosa’s goal). It was in our hands, but we fumbled. It sucks that Ramos was at the heart of both goals conceded, cause he has helped to give us a certain presence at the back. Although i still see him as a short term solution, i can’t say we haven’t needed him.

Also, i can comfortably say, this has been one of our better performances in the UCL in years. It’s not saying much, cause we didn’t really boss PSV, but we took our chances, and still kept fighting when 2 crucial calls didn’t go our way.

I think we can still rock with Fernando & Rakitic before they both pass the torch, but i still agree with this sentiment. Not only do i hate seeing Rakitic at the #10, at least one of the two pivots needs to cover alot of ground. Let alone one that can make a quick turn. A lot of our moves go stale when we just circulate the ball, and can’t find a way in thru the middle. We improved in the 2nd half, but the damage could have been done in the 1st half. Thankfully, for once, i think Mendi timed his substitutions really well.

Currently, I worry less with him in goal than Dimi. I know the last minute goal went in at the near post, but that was point blank range. With Marko, i would’ve cringed at every shot Lang took. Perhaps Nyland doesn’t have the ā€˜look’ of a #1 keeper yet, but i think it’s too early to tell. I was late on noticing the decline with Rico, so don’t fully take my word on this. And tbf, our overall play has improved since the Int’l break, so it’s not like Nyland over-performed or anything.

I’m late to the party.

Wasn’t able to catch the game but disappointing obviously to concede so late and not get the three points as it would have put us in a decent position.

Two draws isn’t a disastrous start but we really could have done with the three points going into two tough games against Arsenal. If we come away from nothing in those matches we would be near enough out.

Either way I suspect there will be a lot riding on the last two games against Lens and PSV. We’re capable of beating Arsenal, especially at home, as Lens have shown. I’d take four points out of the two Arsenal games, even three wouldn’t be catastrophic as I’m struggling to see us getting anything at the Emirates. The remaining home matches are must win and hope for at least one form of result away.
