With 90% possession weâre camped outside their penalty area but donât have enough penetration, it really lays bare our lack of football.
If we just pulled back a little it would open spaces. Most play going down the right side and ends up with Suso, Jordan has had a lot of ball in the centre but hasnât made the right decisions with passes. On the left Salas doesnât want to take responsibility and so the ball goes backwards while Isco is fooling around too much. Nesyri has touched the ball 3 times despite all our pressure. Itâs still a dysfunctional system.

Great performances by Gudelj and Nianzou, of course they didnât have to defend much but their clean-ups and distribution were perfect. I think I prefer Navas at right wing, he doesnât have as much forward presence as Suso but the final product is much better. Nice to see Fernando back.

Caught bits of the match and we were well on top for most of it as is to be expected, but job done and we were comfortable enough. All we can ask for. A bit of confidence going into the WC break and hopefully the start of a good cup run.

Exactly. Hoping Fernando 2.0 doesnât look like Suso 2.0, JordĂĄn 2.0 or even Rakitic 2.0 has in recent times.
