2019-2020 Copa del Rey Thread

Nice to see some speed up top with En-Nesyri tracking that down.

Very lively end to the game with a very active En-Nesyri. Lots more movement off the ball, taking part in the buildup as well. Almost scored a scissor-kick that woulda made the RSP go insane. Despite not scoring, which he did have a couple chances to, he made a good impression on the home crowd.

Óliver had a decent game overall. We’ll need him to be at least this good on the weekend, since Banega is suspended. (These Argentines and their damn bookings.) Gudelj can be a good stand-in for Jordán if he doesn’t make it back next game either.

I got so lost in the draw last time. NOW we’re in the Sweet 16!

Will VAR be present from the next round or from quarters only?

Couldn´t watch, ofcourse looked the notifications and saw we were winning, so that felt good. And scoring goals, 3 of them, not bad guys. Way above our 1.2 average. Crazy. Insane actually haha.

Just saw the highlights looked alright. Great first goal, Fernando pressuring very far up, the mistake, and getting it back to finish calmly. Love this guy. Ocampos shot was so hidden the GK couldn´t see shit around his defence. Indeed we had some more chances but nothing too crazy…

Looking ahead to Granada, lets go Boys.

From what you pasted there, it says round of 16, which is next round. I heard the commentator from the game say the quarters, but elsewhere i’m reading it’s indeed next round.

And btw, De Jong was offside for the 3rd goal.

Some great games today.
Barca played terrible and barely sneaked out a win at Ibiza.
Athletic stepped off the line (keeper was clearly yards off the line) to win a shootout with Elche.
Granada was pushed to ET with Badalona (our boy Carlos Fernandez got the third goal in ET.)
Valladolid dropped to Tenerife.

Tomorrow we are all Vallecano fans as they take on Betis.

Yea Chris, don’t you at least want us to deliver the knockout blow?

Betis…maybe out?

haha Betis out! Had such a chance…Alena and Tello both missed opportunities to put it away in ET

And taken out by another Red and White team

My condolences Jim @SurreySevilla

Certainly some surprises tonight. 4 la liga teams knocked out by lower teams.
Mirandes dreaming of getting through to the semi finals again as they did in the 2011/12 season.

Afraid it’s not a straight draw Chris.

The first teams to leave will be the only two survivors of Second Division B Subsequently they will do the four sets of Second Division and all of them will be paired with as many clubs of the highest category. Those six qualifiers will be played in the stadium of the lower category set. Once all the clubs in the silver and bronze division have an assigned rival, the four First teams remaining in the hype will be paired with each other, with locality for the squad whose ball comes out first.

The 16 classified teams are distributed in the following bowls

Second Division Bowl (4) Real Zaragoza, CD Tenerife, CD Mirandés and Rayo Vallecano.

First Division Bowl (10) CA Osasuna, Sevilla FC, FC Barcelona, Athletic Club, Granada CF, Villarreal CF, Valencia CF, Real Sociedad, Real Madrid and CD Leganés.

Should be a nice way through; however, there pitch was a nasty looking thing yesterday. Hope no one gets injured.

I wonder things like logistics for this match. Does the team arrive the night before or the day of? If they arrive the night before, where do they stay? This town is really small and lacks the 5 star hotels they are used to staying in. There are a couple of 5 stars not super far away including this Frank Gehry designed thing that costs around 450 euros per night:

Starting 11 v Mirandes

I thought En- Nesyri would have been given a full game tonight.

En-Nesyri missed training yesterday due to illness, so not sure if he’ll even play today.

Good to see Jordán back in the squad.
