Whatever we do we better not lose the current harmony at defence. İt’s been years since we last possessed such a beautiful defensive strength. Gone are the days we got mauled by Barca disgracefully.
One thing though, we need an illustrious DM who can also add to the scoreline more often. Fernando and Gudelj both stay back too much.
Exactly. The humiliation that we received from Chelsea is a clear evidence of what could happen if we didn’t start the first team-ers such as Kounde, Acuna, Fernando, Jordan, Bono.
Well Idrissi on the way out, atleast till this summer.
Ajax is taking him on loan for half a year, with an option to buy afterwards.
He must not have impressed the staff but also hasn´t gotten that much minutes.
One more day to save the season - we urgently need a full back (left preferably but versatile is even better). No new rumors circulating so far though.
With Idrissi out (a pity, but he doesn’t add anything to the team really atm), it would be good for Mudo and Gnagnon to leave as well. I’d loan Gnagnon out without a buying option.
If I translated it correctly it is without a buying option, which is better in overall as we might sell him for more in the summer. He knows Eredivisie well and would be a decent addition for Ajax.
They are loaning him as a temporary replacement for the very likely departure of Promes to Spartak Moscow. Promes was mainly a sub, but I’m sure Idrissi will get many minutes and could very soon become a regular there.
Maybe so, the first articles did talk about a buy option, might have been wrong. I wouldn´t mind either way. Also just on dutch television, said to be a option to buy. The telegraaf is pretty shit. I imagine it being like the Sun in Uk. But still it could have been right.
Lope confirmed today that Acuna’s injury is worse than first thought and that he will be out for ‘many’ weeks. Many weeks could mean 2 months at least, if not more. Navas is also just prolonging the inevitable as it seems, he can have a similar fate to Acuna if he keeps up like this, plus he’s clearly playing at 50% of his capability almost every match lately. Escudero is nowhere back to return and will have issues to recover 100% to get into the rhythm and help us this season. We’re left with Vidal only as a true full back that is fully fit and ready to help.
So all roads lead to signing/loaning in a new left back. Monchi has until 11:59 PM tonight to save the season, otherwise we’re screwed. Can’t be serious counting on Rekik for LB for the upcoming schedule that is very demanding. We’re not that pathetic of a club to even think of that!
Monchi and Lope could be thinking the same. Or maybe Ocampos at LB and Papu at LW… why not? Have you ever played as a field player with your goalkeeper outfit in your Sunday league team?
About Idrissi. The option for permanent sale has been confirmed and is in the deal, 18m. Ajax is a rich club. And they probably want to make a statement that we don’t want to sell him seemingly yet.
Whole situation reminds me of our Turkish Super League where player turnover is so high that some of the newly arrived players barely touch the ball before being sold out to another team.
When you think of it, this is a pure case of value raised because he played with us - so it’s the brand… not that he performed in any way to deserve that.
Actually might have been crossed off. Latest thing ajax said, they can negociate a deal at the end of the season but for now its not there. Anyway, how his value will look like, will all depend how we will perform at Ajax now. Hope for us he gets to play plenty and we see some winnings.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to negotiations and how value is perceived by the clubs. TM is good for statistics in overall, but I think their market value estimates for players are sometimes unrealistic - not necessarily in this case though.
