You would do well to remember much of Euro 92 to be fair Tim. About the only exciting thing that happened was Denmark winning it having not even qualified for it.
Thankfully the last 8 team Euros, the teams were:
Sweden (Hosts)
The Netherlands (Reigning Champions)
England
Scotland
France
Germany (First Tournament since reunification)
Denmark (who replaced the disqualified Yugoslavia)
CIS (A team made up of Soviet players as USSR had disbanded)
Italy was a second replacement team in case the Soviet Union place was unfulfilled, but as I say a makeshift CIS team took the place.
Yugoslavia were disqualified due to the Bosnian War, a team made up of many of the Croatia team that went on to finish Third at the 1998 World Cup, plus a few Serbs like Mihaijlovic, Jokanovic etc.
