Sevilla FC Summer 2025/Winter 2026 Transfer Rumors

I agree. If I’m honest I don’t really rate these new signings or they not going to help much now.

We have to get real. Signing 2 finished 36 year olds who are a shadow of themselves isn’t the answer. They both out of condition, injury prone and can’t be expected to do a lot.

A risky centre back who Porto couldn’t wait to get rid of. Mendy looks promising but again he came from Turkish league. He going into a weaker midfield than last season.

The better signings are probably the ones at start of window. Suazo and Alfon. They look okay and especially Alfon who did well at celta and knows league.

We so light now. Literally 1 injury in midfield, on wings and at back and we in trouble.

We still don’t have a great striker either.

We all want us to improve and be better but logic suggest this will be another real struggle unfortunately. There are teams around us who strengthened might have better teams.

Elche and Alaves after break will be 2 really hard games. I’m not confident but hopefully they prove me wrong.

Far more optimistic than some of you all. Yes, agreed that we lost more known talent than we gained, but that’s par for the course as a middling team in Europe. Sell high, buy low.

The cash in the bank pay dividends eventually. Or put another way, paying down debts is also part of sustainable talent acquisition.

If i’m being honest, i see 5 goals from each of those attackers in that lineup, and hoping to be wrong.

Akor will be a better reference point at CF, be he will need the service. Dodi was a problem for defenders in the 1v1. Ejuke can be a mixed bag, but i need to see if he’s gotten over that injury from last season.

Fernando would like a word.

My pessimism is only to alleviate the pain from our next loss.

I get the disappointment and I see the optimism. This was always going to be a tough window. It’s hard to negotiate when everyone knows what a shitty situation you are in. The deals we made are all short term except for Cardoso.

My thoughts are the window wasn’t exactly what we wanted but then I don’t know what people were expecting.

Everyone knows our financial situation and the need to have to sell players and register them.

We are in a better situation than at the start of the season when we could barely register a team and there were doubts over whether we’d sign anyone else. At least we have registered players, brought in a few even if not exactly what we wanted and selling the likes of Bade and Lukebakio which although we didn’t want we had no choice.

I think it will be another season of struggle and our main aim should definitely be to stay up. I am optimistic we can achieve that and don’t believe we’re as Segunda bound as some on here.

I don’t want to be negative, especially after a good result at the weekend, but the Sánchez signing could easily turn out to be one of the worst in the league.

He’s likely on a big wage for a short-term deal, and that spot could have gone to an academy lad instead. We’d save the money and give a young player valuable experience.

I only realised after posting last time that we’d actually sold Lukebakio, and I’m honestly in disbelief at the figure.

As someone who follows the Premier League closely, I can’t help but compare the prices English clubs pay for players. When you see the money spent there, it makes our €20m sale look like a bargain for the buying club.

I understand the financial reality of needing player sales, but this one feels like we’ve been seriously short-changed.

Only for this alone Corndog should’ve resigned… let alone for all the masquerade during the transfer window.

Inept is inept… no excuses.

After getting him on the cheap Benfica have immediately put a €50m buy out clause on Dodi

I somehow doubt Alexis is making big wages. Maybe slightly more than the meager salary that Ramos agreed to, but I’m pretty confident at his age and after an unsuccessful year at Udinese, we are not paying him top wages. I’d be unsurprised if he was right around the median wage for our club, somewhere around Agoumé wages, let’s say. Just my intuition, but happy to be proven wrong.

At least a replacement for the players lost. Our defence was horrible, so maybe adding Suazo, Azpi & Cardoso upgrades our backline to serviceable. Orta didn’t address this at all.

Lukebakio was transferred for no replacement to come in. As if to say, the forward line was good enough or developing to where we no longer needed Dodi. That’s a big downgrade & a gamble.

Then there’s Idumbo & Suso. I’ll reserve judgement on Alfon, but Januzaj’s still on the squad as if he’ll be as good as anybody mentioned. And with that logic, the stand-ins for Sambi & Saul are Jordán & Mendy? Let’s just hope these guys will be fit to play.

It just doesn’t seem like the classic Sevilla transfer strategy where we sell high & buy low. However, we made more funds than last year, and didn’t spend anything on transfer fees. Also, there is still value on this team with Juanlu, Agoume & Vargas, so perhaps we simply have to survive again this season to have a better window next year.

Lastly, although this being his first coaching job in Spain, Almeyda has more experience than Pimienta did. He’s already had success in other leagues. That can serve as better guidance for a team that has lacked direction. Azpi & Alexis are hella old, but those guys are winners. We’re not likely to win a trophy this season, but it’s always important to have those kinds of players on a squad.

Sanchez was still under contract at Udinese on 2.78 million for this season. Now I don’t know what the agreement was, but I bet they are still paying part of that salary and we took a fraction of it.

We’ve sold them all.

For real, I don’t know who in the academy could step up and assume a first-team position.

Minus the low figure for Lukebakio, I actually think it was a fairly successful window considering the situation. Time will tell, but I’m not totally mad at it. The problem is, we are still in debt, we will still sell others in January and/or next window.

The key is stacking the academies and developing them, but I’m afraid all the good work that was done there the last few seasons (yes I think Orta made some really good buys on young lads) has been sold off for pennies, except for Castrín.

Amrabat going to :poop: is a punch in the gut though.

I suspect the guys in charge have looked in each others eyes and decided to gamble a little. Shave a chunk off the debt and take a bigger step towards financial security on behalf of the ambitions regarding the league table.

Only time will tell whether it’s a good idea and thus I will strain myself from making my final judgement.

I do agree with those saying that on paper we look weakened. Suazo looks a real reinforcement and I also believe Alfon can be the real deal. Regarding Alexis and Dave, I can’t help myself from comparing those cases to those of Lamela and Nasri in more recent times - although Alexis and Dave are considerably older than those two were. But those are all guys that have made a name for themselves and I can’t quite figure out, why they would choose Sevilla FC. I doubt it’s because of the paycheck. So something must have drawn them and for both Nasri and Lamela it turned out they still had a lot to offer. They might be just what we need… but they might also be injured for most of the season and then we are all kinds of f***ed.

Also, I’ve been one of those desperate for players that can also lead. Suazo definitely looks like a guy who can do that and I’m pretty sure Dave will have some authority as well. So in that regard we have a squad with more chest hair than last season it seems.

Reading through the comments, I’m sensing mixed feelings. It’s great to see some optimism, because I won’t lie — after seeing the Sánchez signing and then the Lukebakio transfer, I was fearing the worst. It’s definitely going to be a long international break

It’ll be interesting to see his impact in Scotland. I’ll keep an eye out for him and let y’all know. Given the standard of some of the teams he might get a few goals haha
