I have to say his record is very impressive and he’s had success everywhere he has been.
Definite reason for optimism.
Let’s see if Alguacil follows him.

Between Imanol Alguacil and Jorge Jesus, I think I would opt more for the latter.
Even though Alguacil has the La Liga experience and has done quite well with Sociedad - 1 CDR trophy during his tenure and 1 4th place finish, with some other top 6 finishes in La Liga.
I think Jorge Jesus is the more experienced one - probably the one we need for the rebuild and re-aim for glory.
I was just checking JJ’s record with Benfica and Sporting… it is quite impressive. Especially his European record, 2 back to back EL finals with Benfica (1 against us in 2013), trophies (league, cup etc. in Portugal).
2 quarter finals in CL with Benfica, not an easy feat. EL quarters with Sporting, showing that he could do well in Europe with different teams.
The only disadvantage for JJ is his age. He’ll turn 71 in July and is probably 1 club or NT away from retirement. Sevilla could be his last one… but why not? If he can get us in the right path, so then someone else can take over and push through for more success… I’m all for that.
Otherwise, Alguacil is also a decent option, but rumor is he’s quite confused from the whole situation in the club, although positive… perhaps.
He was negotiating with Victor Orta… now negotiating with Cordon… while sandwiched at the same time negotiating with Al Shabab.
So who knows. I just think anything than the current situation will be better in 2025-26. Hoping for an European return… we sure miss the mid-week matches.

The pedigree is there for Jesus, but man 71! Plus he looks like Pellegrini’s hermano.
I worry about Alguacil’s ability to motivate a team to push them to that final level. Many of his La Real teams were supposed to take that next step and failed time after time. With that said, we can’t be picky at this time and top 6 is sure a hell of a lot better than 17th.

Bordelas was seen as expensive at €2 - 3 million per season.
It could be that Cordon wants JJ, but I don’t imagine he comes any cheaper & Alguacil has a potentially lucrative move to the Middle East as an option.
We’ll have to wait and see

According to Estadio Deportivo, Alguacil is not close to agreeing a move. He still has several options on the table and both he and Sevilla have doubts about the move, despite him being Sevilla’s first choice.
ED also suggests that the club have made further contact with Bordelas and Matias Almeyda formerly of AEK Athens.

Apparently we are holding for €20m. Even if Carmona played as the main RB last season this is a very low fee to let Juanlu go for in this market (Dont know how long he has on contract). The reality is that if we lose Lukebakio, Badé and Juanlu this season, how are we going to trust these players will be replaced with decent alternatives that will play for this badge? How will we improve on last season? Can we trust Antonio Cordon to turn things around? Sure he has been successful in other clubs to get where he is but has he ever been in a situation as royally fucked as Sevilla right now? How much of these transfer fees can we add to our budget given the La Liga FFP situation we have? Will complete dead wood like Marcao, Tanguy, Gudelj and Akor leave the club either through middle eastern interest or enough respect to cancel their current deals? How can we fix this situation so that next season we stay up? Im sorry, after 3 sporting directors, 6 managers since the departure of Lopetegui in october 2022, somehow with no money still no good recruitment and the reality it will only be our best players leaving for relatively nominal fees, i just cant see 3 teams being worse than us next season. Im sorry, I really think this is it
