When you look at the table though it’s the best ever start to a season so far as a sevilla fan. No matter what the football is like this is still dream territory for sevilla fans. To see how far clear we are of Barca and atleti feels amazing! 12 points ahead of both! Wow!

Our matches vs Getafe have been the worst to watch, so this was pretty unsurprising. Hope it didn’t cost us Kounde for too long, but the next man will step up. But what’s clear, Lope still only trust a certain amount of players from this squad. Not getting that 2nd goal meant that those subs were only gonna be for conservative reasons.
Onto the next. Bring on those green bastards !

Sure, i’m not denying that we are in a fantastic spot and I actually doubt anyone would change the recipe Lope is using if it meant fewer points.
But it’s the everlasting discussion about professional football it seems: play to win or play to entertain and enjoy. It’s quite a pickle…

We controlled the game much better in the second half and could’ve scored the second with a bit of luck.
Papu is an integral part of the team now and he’s in a great form but there are two evident problems in regards to him as a player.
One is that he’ll become 34 in a month’s time and considering his style of play (all over the pitch, running a lot etc.) he won’t be able to perform like this every week or every 3-4 days when EL and CDR are included in the mix. Without Munir (AFCON), we are quite thin on the attacking part. The same can be said for Ocampos or even Mir. We can’t rely on Ivan Romero for the remainder of the season.
With that being said, Monchi needs to act quick and sign a versatile attacker/winger that would help Papu and Ocampos first, then Mir too. Maybe sign 2 players? If Martial doesn’t happen then Bakambu and a versatile winger.
Another thing that can be seen with Papu is that he isn’t taking even slightly-risky passes. There were many occasions where teammates were open but he was focused on not losing the ball rather than distributing it in the midfield. This could be an assignment from Lope in order not to risk it. He’s also been quite active defensively, coming back for cover, stopping shots etc. (especially in the previous match vs. Zaragoza).
He is selfish at times, but hey… it’s Papu and we know what happens when he takes a good shot. He almost killed Mitrovic of Getafe with a powerful shot… that was funny.
On the other hand, we’re also quite thin on the right full-back compartment. With Navas out (his comeback is still unpredicted), we’re left with Montiel only. Acuna couldn’t even perform at 10% of his usual self as he does at LB. We might try Ludwig but that’s a risk too, and Kounde should stick to CB and not risk at the demanding RB role.
What we could try in a scenario without Montiel (he might need resting too in the meantime, you could see the kinesio tapes all over his legs) is a 3 at the back like we did sometimes this season.
On to 
for the CDR Round of 16. It’s good that we won’t play again mid-week, gives us more time to recover and get ready to beat the bastards.

But seriously they have offers there that you don’t see on the internet. Last time I was in they had some windcheaters at €10, just a light jacket with no pockets but with the Sevilla escudo. While I was thinking about it my nephews bought them all

It’s a case of careful what you wish for. As right now we are a serious team who even other top la liga sides are taking seriously. Real Madrid actually watch our results now with interest. Now Barca and atleti are trying to catch us. They are all hoping we slip up whereas before we were an afterthought
The football might not be pretty at times but there is a winning mentality and professionalism in this squad. We know how to win and how to achieve big things. I’d take this any day over entertaining a bit more but also getting embarrassed more times and finishing 6th at best.
This is probably it’s ever been as a Sevilla fan and it’s difficult to see if it will get any better. We have to enjoy riding high as this might not last as long as we want.
I do think our football will improve too when we get a few attackers back from injury and sign say 2 attacking players this window.
While I’d like a bit better football it’s always about the result first for me and game management. This is how atleti won their 2 league titles and many other trophies.

Glad with the Victory, as always and against a team like Getafe they can definitely be regarded as 3 big points. Nobody likes them and they can be a hurdle for any team, Even if they are not good just by being annoying and stubborn. I saw some of their play at the start and they basically only fumbled their chances. We jumped past this hurdle with another small lope jump like so many. The hurdle course is quite a bit longer tho and Im just hoping we can keep it up.
