🇪🇸 La Liga - Primera Division - Matchday 35 | Sevilla FC vs RCD Espanyol de Barcelona

Ultra massive 3 points. Still 3 games to go and anything can happen, but the mission for these 2 home matches has been accomplished. 40 points!

The Sevilla fans have done it again! They have energised the team and the side have stepped up and responded.

2 massive wins! We just about safe now! Not quite but I think we pulled it off!

I’m so happy to be wrong! They never gave up.

Vamos mi Sevilla!!

Dunno about y’all, but my feed cut out on minute 98 and switched over to the atleti match :sob::sweat_smile::face_with_symbols_on_mouth: It’s no fun watching the seconds tick by on Fotmob!

Nowhere near safe imo, but what a great week for this club’s future.

I’m once again left breathless. This is the Sevilla I remember. I know we haven’t got the best of squads of late, but we find a way. :raising_hands:

Things we learned:

  1. This squad can be pretty crap;
  2. This squad can also create miracles out of nowhere;
  3. Eitherways, each match is bound to leave you breathless;
  4. Castrin should be the starting right winger for both Sevilla and the national team;
  5. @ChrisLail is either a time traveler or is practicing black magic

Is that all?

Is it a sign that we are safe? The Gods are looking down on us tonight. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The roar of the home fans after Adams’ winning goal told of their relief, after a second half that lurched between joy and despair.

This is likely to be one of the tightest finishes to La Liga in years. It will likely come down to our last day fixture vs Celta to determine our fate. Levante host Mallorca on the penultimate day before Girona hosts Elche on the last day, and the result of those games could have a huge bearing on who goes down.

Let’s hope this week’s points can keep Sevilla above the dreaded dotted line, otherwise they could be scrambling for points against a Celta team that are still playing for a top 5 finish.

Had to sign out after the first half, but what a rollercoaster to follow this through livescore. Must have been nervewrecking to watch it live.

I wonder where the hell Ejuke has found this confidence and resilience to keep on trying to create something. He is out shining Vargas at the moment. Castrin and Salas looking more protected in this 4-4-2 with some cover on both flanks and in front of them. Although Agoume had a worse game than against Sociedad. Maybe some tired legs from last game.

We were on the verge of disaster, but the guys pulled through and that is remarkable in itself. I’m finding it impossible to look at the last three rounds and trying to predict an outcome for this relegation-battle. It is intense. We might be needing one more victory. The Villarreal looks difficult. Could we hope that Real Madrid have imploded and don’t really give a shit about their last games but purely focusing on getting healthy to the world cup?

I need to see more praise for Garcia Plaza. He has despite the struggles, really installed something in these players and put much more structure into the team. The 4-4-2 seems to be working a lot better for almost all players. I would not mind him staying beyond this season and build on this. Players seem to trust him also.

Can’t believe we won yesterday. Still a way to go and hopefully results go our way, but man those two games gave us something to cheer about. Fans have been remarkable also. Best stadium in La Liga when the fans are like this.

What’s the kit we have worn the last couple of games with the old style badge?

I think there was a LaLiga retro-round a few rounds back where most, if not all, clubs wore a to the occasion new kit celebrating their history. I may even think it was the round where we beat Atletico and thus the superstition made us wear them again in these rounds against Sociedad and Espanyol.

Lol. We were caught in that rain whilst dropping off our dog at his sitters just before the game. And had to get changed.

Great video.

Always lovely to watch these videos, especially after spectacular wins like this. I get goosebumps by seeing how the team and fans celebrate the goals (I often focus on the bench players, because that shows the real team spirit), but also from the atmosphere that’s created int he stadium.
