I have the exact same question. Almeyda often puts out very defensive teams / formations with the signal that we are more afraid to lose than win. It confuses me, when we litterally have nothing to lose and need to win games rather than just hope for 0-0.
Against Barca, I somehow get it, but we also need to play without fear. Barca hold a very High line, yet we have 2 of the slowest strikers out there in Adams and Alexis. It doesnt always make a ton of sense and IF we stay up, Almeyda has to be more brave and offensive next season.

Nianzou is just a clumsy big defender that doesnt belong at this level. Maybe try and see what Castrin can offer, mmh?

It has just turned into a classic Sevilla-performance against Barca. None of us expected any points in this, so nothing really changes. Although it is fair to ask some questions as to why we once again run into a result like this again.
It just makes that Mallorca-result even more annoying though.

Yep but there is a difference into how you lose. Just giving up and letting Barca run over you with this ease is not professional and Its unnacceptable. Nobody expected a win today, but its football and you can always get a result. It smells like bad preperation and players that had given up beforehand. We could have lost 3-1 or 2-0 and nobody would be this mad. But goals matter and letting him score 5 without then actually doing anything is beyond horrific. They dont even work for their goals, they just jog around. That small salary these players get, should be ripped from Them. Disgusting performance and not worthy of the Sevilla shirt.
Absolutely. I’m not defending the performance at all. It is abysmal and from the little I have actually seen it looked like a team that had given up very early in the game. And that is unforgivable. I’m just saying we’ve seen this before and although it hurts every time, it just feels a little easier knowing these were not calculated three points. The most important games are yet to come and we are still dependent on the teams around us dropping points.
