Salas waves to come off. He’s pretty frágil to be so young.
Senior man on for Isaac and Marcão for Salas.
Did you see Nyland fall on his arse unprovoked with the ball nowhere in sight?
9 minutos to grab a goal and 3 points!
I don’t care how it ends. I am loving this squad other than CB…and if Marcão can stay healthy… even CB may be covered
Man football is cruel!
That’s a kick in the balls
Did I curse it with my equanimity?
Looking at the replay, that’s just one of those bizarre goals where a rebound and a rebound end up at the feet of your rival…no particularly bad mistake there
An undeserved defeat tonight after a decent second half performance where we had a number of chances to win. Football can be a cruel game. Ejuke made a big impact and will be an exciting player.
On to Mallorca
Kick in the guts that. A harsh result because we played well and created lots of chances in 2nd half. Sadly we wasted chances and then our tendency to mess up defensively reared it’s ugly head again
Positive signs though and we played well and lots to build on. Ejuke looks an exciting prospect and looks like he will excite the crowd.
A long way to go but a shame we couldn’t get at least point. We move on. Vamos mi sevilla!
I didnt see a bad game from my team this evening. But the disscussions with CB will( i hope!) go on…
Very weak our supporters in RSP.
This is our second(!) game with new players!
I was also shocked the goal in 2 Minute…BUT!!!..there was enough time…
Ejuke, …i wanted see him from the beginning with Dodi…but its ok😉
Saul made also a lot of fun!
Vamos Sevilla!!!
Managed to catch the second half. Was quite optimistic that we would get the win in the end, only for the defense to let us down once again.
Marcao will play some matches, get in a good form and get injured for 2-3 months. The guy will never have consistency in that way.
Can’t really count on Nianzou and Gudelj. I think the management has just given up on the CB situation unfortunately. Bade is all we got and that’s it… others will just keep rotating and keep being crap. Ramos coming back wouldn’t be the answer.
Someone like Hermoso would be the answer… but oh well.
We played good in overall, the attack looked promising. I would bench Ocampos for some games and start Ejuke - the guy killed everyone in 1on1 situations. Has a lot of potential - only that his passing could be much better.
Poor start to the season usually means that we have to play ‘catch-up’ and not aspire for higher positions, but if we find a good rhythm… you never know.
The most important thing, and the most unfortunate is that we have a shit goalkeeper as an undisputed starter. I would give Alvaro Fernandez the start from next match. Nyland is totally shit. The second goal was easier to save than concede. On the contrary, Villarreal’s goalie gets elected MVP of the match.
I still don’t trust GP. How come Carmona had a start and never got subbed off? Lots of things to work on… there’s room for optimism but it can fade quickly depending on how the issues are approached by the coach.
Gueye played very good for Villarreal. Not sure how we ever let him go…
Glad to hear the optimism in this group. As I said above, I also felt very encouraged by how the squad played and with everything except defensive solidness. Nyland isn’t great, but I also saw him take a while to settle in last season, but eventually he got there and did what we needed him to do most matches.
I’m not up to date on my La Liga announcers, but the guy doing the commentary today on ESPN+ was great. Absolutely spot-on analysis of our players, tactics, management etc. and he seemed do have a deep hatred for Nyland which made me chuckle.
Hoping to see more of Marcao, Ejuke, and Iheanacho going forward.
That was legendary Graham Hunter. Not sure who he was on the call with though.
