Genuine question - what’s the issue with Marcao? He’s been sat on the bench since the Granada game apart from 3 mins vs Barcelona. Surely, providing he’s been fit, he could’ve played some part in defence?
Las Palmas is the biggest game of this clubs history for a long long time. We have to get a result or the unthinkable will happen.
Barring a miracle this team is getting nothing against Real Madrid and Villarreal so it all on Tuesday night.
What a terrible situation and all it takes is 1 bad decision, 1 error or missing more chances for us to really start to panic. The bottom teams are trying to help us but we returning the favour. I feel we got worse since sacking Pimienta which is scary!
Not quite because if we lose last 2 games and Las Palmas win both they can catch us in goal difference.
Alternatively leganes still have a big say. If they beat espanyol tomorrow they got 34. Their last 2 games are Las Palmas and Valladolid so could catch us and get to 40.
We have to get something against Las Palmas but a draw has us still sweating on them and leganes especially. A defeat though and we in shit.
If we win we safe so it so massive on Tuesday night.
Marcão is the 2nd highest wage earner in the squad (after Saúl) but has played the grand total of 5 minutes in 6 months. A prime candidate to exit in the summer, but then again, who isn’t?
Thanks Mark, I didn’t realise it was still so tight. Its really a win at all cost. And forget this season pretty quickly. Tonight in 2006, we won our UEFA… Glory days..
After the game last night there were incidents at the training ground and the players had to stay there overnight. Videos show the main gate being torn off and fans entering the complex. A club statement was issued claiming that the bus was attacked.
While this does happen at football clubs across the globe, it feels quite shocking to see this happening at the club you support.
I didn’t watch the game but looks like I did well not to. We can’t even get a result against ten men.
I do have to admit that we have taken a turn for the worst since Pimienta was sacked. Looks like he was performing miracles with this team and was punished for a run of narrow defeats against tough opposition. This decision may be yet another blunder from our incompetent board and a fatal one.
Las Palmas on Tuesday is one of the biggest games in this clubs history. Fail to win and we really are in the mire when you look at the remaining games Leganes have.
If we do manage to stay up, huge changes are needed on and off the pitch in the summer or relegation will happen. With the financial constraints we have that is no easy task. Sad times for this once great club.
I have zero respect for those who tend to violence. We are all frustrated and I definitely think we can demand more of the players, but they are husbands, fathers and sons and their wellbeing should never be put into question. I seriously doubt an attack on the squad will help them perform better…
I get it why the fans need their scapegoat(s) and it will be unbearable for all of us if we do go down, but unity will triumph over division and anger. End of story.
