Bade is a competent defender. But he’s starved of an experienced partner to guide him thru situations like this.

How would an experienced partner have helped? That was horribly indecisive and poorly executed. His positioning less bad than the poor decision making and sloppy tackle.

Not for that particular play, but for his overall game. Having an experienced CB would have helped his decision making over time.

I would expect better judgement from Edinho.
Bade is an average CB, not saying bad. Just average… Nothing special and there’s tons of cbs like him in La Liga

Badé isn’t elite but he is the best center back we have, by quite a large margin. I agree with Edinho, with a competent partner he would be a lot better. Still above average.

Slight redemption for bade on that critical interception
@Edinho the amount of poor positioning and mistakes Bade made this season does not correlate with an above average CB, not even close. He is very inconsistent for a rock solid CB.
Now, can we say the same or even worse for most, if not all of our players? We can. Which impacts Bade’s performance too
Now 2… Can we say that a better pair could have made him a better CB? We can.
Now 3… Could every CB in the planet become a better CB with a better pair? Of course!
I’m just stating what is very obvious. Bade is an average CB, regardless of the factors.
I think even with a better pair he is still an average CB, just in possibly better form. Heck, even Gudelj looks ok in good form.
Nonetheless, just as expected with this Sevilla. Euphoric start and good game 10 mins in. Then a total disaster altogether.

Thought we did okay in that first half. Shame that Bade had to give away a sloppy pen.
Hoping to see some more intensity in the second half and we go for the win as you can get at this Atleti side who are clearly lacking in confidence after their bad run.

We played decent and started much better. Shot ourselves in the foot with penalty but overall a good first half from the team.
