I was surprised how crap Girona were, how the mighty have fallen and how quickly.

To be fair, they had three fairly big absences, including Danjuma who was sick, apparently, and Yangel Herrera.

But yeah, they’re not the team they used to be. Granted, they nearly beat us. But the fact that they couldn’t wrap up the win shows how far they’ve fallen.

Huge three points away from home at a difficult place to go.

Thought we played very well and deserved the win.

We look so much better with Dodi and Ejuke back and Vargas as well as Idumbo. We have lots of attacking options now.

Isaac being out a blow but Dodi can play as the centre forward as he showed with his super goal in this match.

Up into the top half and above :poop: and only a few points off the European places. Hopefully we can have some more positive results against Espanyol and Getafe going into the Barca game and we could be in a decent position. Things looking a lot healthier!

Interesting tactical question, don’t we now suddenly have tons of strength on the left wing and only Dodi on the right, so what happens if GP goes try to put Dodi as a CF? Juanlu on the right, I guess? I wonder if Ejuke or Vargas has ever played right?

According to match report, this is Sevilla’s first comeback in La Liga this season(!)

This shows that there is no squad planning… just random players coming with no vision on how to use them. If GP and/or management would have any clue, they’d know to prioritize the defense, then the striker, then balance the wings etc.

It’s good that we won - I couldn’t watch the match.

If we don’t build some momentum after this and show something nice vs. Espanyol, this would then turn out to be a fluke.

apparently its our first comeback away from home since april 2021

Idumbo, and Vargas can play on the right. They also have Juanlu available there… Probably his more natural position. We also have the young fellow that played in the NCAA that could fill in if needed for the match. Hell we could even play Suso or Peque as a false 9 and play Lukebakio back out on the left. Lots of options.

As positive as ever I see.

I think Sevilla are now out of the intensive care unit, things have looked pretty grim since Lopetegui but now I see hope with a younger squad.
