3 points is 3 points… but it’s still sad. With 1 more player vs. this Rayo… you’d expect 1-2 more goals at least and winning comfortably.

Hope Saul starts to play soon and we see less and less of Peque.

Huge win! We have did relatively good at home this season. That will breed more confidence and takes the team comfortably into mid table. Great result

An underwhelming second half performance. We were hanging on against ten men and lucky to win. Clearly the team is lacking confidence and struggling to score goals.

That said, three points is three points and we do move comfortably into mid-table. So not bad when you consider how deep we’ve been in relegation trouble the past two seasons. The home form is carrying us right now.

Hopefully we can at least win our two home games before Christmas against Osasuna and Celta. Away at Atleti and Real we have no chance. We would then be quite well placed at near enough the half way point going into the New Year.

This is where it gets tricky. If we manage to win most of the home matches for the rest of the season… we’ll be ok, but probably not enough for a 6-7 place that sends to Europe. So we need to mix in away positive results too.

I’m realistically expecting a similar to last season finish. The situation is so strange that with a bit of luck we could end up in Europe… and could also very well be battling relegation.

That is how massively inconsistent we are this season.
