We had many chances to put it away and missed them all. Mainly due to Issac’s selfishness.
What YEN did showed a lack of respect, period. It shouldn’t be tolerated.
What was even more disrespectful was our display today. Never should that have been a loss to Celta. There is no way my opinion will change on Salas, i don’t think he should hold a 1st team spot next season. If Marcao, Nianzou, Gattoni are still all question marks in the summer, they must all go as well.
Midfield was overwhelmed. No idea what QSF’s plan was to have only Soumare & Oliver in there. For long periods too. Needed a change at halftime.
Isaac had so many good looks in the last few games, it’s frustrating not to see him score any of those. It’s starting to affect his decision making too. Hopefully this break takes him out of this rut.
For me, this performance guarantees Quique’s exit this summer. This was hella sorry. Thanks for steadying the ship a little bit, but we won’t improve that much regardless what work is done next window.
Bamba or Perez for me. Both were spectacular for Celta.
The behind the scenes video should be interesting this week.
Kike Salas is not up to the standard required for this league.
Cost us yet again.
So frustrating to lose that game. Can’t say Celta didn’t deserve it though. Thought they were the better team for a large proportion of the match.
That said, we had the chances to put the game to bed at 1-0 and paid the price for it. Celta’s first was a good strike, maybe Nyland could have done better. Salas was at fault for the second goal I’m afraid losing his man. YEN was wrong to react in the way he did although I think Quique got the subs wrong and we lost our way after him and Ocampos were subbed. We were overran in the midfield and I’m just not sure the five at the back is helping that. Isaac in a bit of a rut and I do think he’s greedy at times.
We’re still right in the mire I’m afraid with Cadiz due to play Granada next.
Our game against cadiz is going to be a real 6 pointer. I hope it doesn’t come down to us needing a win away at athletic or home v barca in the last 2 games. We also have :poop: away to come.
It was a game of two teams being too generous/profligate at both ends. It was always possible that one mistake / poor decision leads to a team losing the game, unfortunately it was us this time.
I do think Isaac was wasteful at times, taking shots when he could also have passed to YEN or someone else (partly the cause of YEN’s frustrations?), however he did also set people up and they wasted the chance. I feel with experience his decision making will improve.
I didn’t see all of the game as I was working, could it be argued that teams now know how to break down Sevilla’s counter attack going through Isaac? Is there a plan B? For example using YEN & Ocampos in the air to flick on for Isaac?
I agree with @Edinho that I can’t see QSF in charge after the summer, not unless the board feel they can’t take a risk with an unproven candidate or attract a better quality manager. Currently the team are so open that they really could get taken to the cleaners by teams with good strikers, we just have to hope to pick up enough points against teams in worse form/positions.
