2024 Sevilla FC Pre-Season

Great run by Idumbo there. Shame he was brought down before he had an effort at goal.

Meijia with a good finish after some good team build-up

Man advantage. Ramon went up as a 2nd striker. He scores. God is good.

2-1 now. Let’s get another one!

This was really good. He looked sharper today, made better decisions, and his teammates seemed to notice by looking for him. Standout player of the 2nd half.

Pablo Rivera (#37) was the holding mid this time, and was very good on the ball, with precise passing.

It’s being said that Pimienta wants to see how Nianzou performs in pre-season before making a decisions on him. I think he needs time, but staying fit is key for him. He has many tools, and can be very useful.

Flores played the whole match in goal, and looked very serviceable. He’s really good on the ball too, which helps our possession game.

Unfortunate not to see Peque involved, but we at least got Sambi & Saul. These guys will be so important and i can’t wait to see more of them.

The 13th Trofeo Antonio Puerta is next against Al-Ittihad on Friday (July 26) at the RSP, so i hope we see our first win there. I think we’ve only lost it once on penalties?

No way i’m just finding out there was a YouTube link.

Anyway, for those that want the replay:

Flores serviceable?

For me he is no one for La Liga.

I hope Pimienta has seen enough of Salas now in the two games to realise he is not a defender we can rely on.

Can’t say I was impressed by Sambi either.

No Neyland, but Dmitrovic is back. Peque is on the list as well hopefully we will see him.

And surprise, Marcao injured again and missed practice.

I think this is an issue that our medical staff simple cannot comprehend. It is unfortunate, but still, a serious medical team would be able to get this figured out.

The injury keeping him out now is an ‘edema’ in the quadriceps. This links to inflammation, and is most likely caused by something within the body, like autoimmune attack or something similar. Diet and overall lifestyle plays an important role in this. Maybe Marcao is not being honest for his diet and lifestyle and is hiding something?

He also came overweight for the pre-season training, which is quite normal these days as most of the players are not disciplined enough to be in a top physical form joining pre-season. But it still tells that the guy is not disciplined.

Also as cited in the news link, this is a big reason for the club to rescind his contract as he is not fit to play in the top flight.

No club will want to take a risk and sign or loan him in this condition. I think Galatasaray fooled us big time and we are paying the consequences.

Though I still think things could’ve been much better with a more serious and knowledgeable medical team and with a higher discipline from Marcao.

To be fair he took a few knocks in that last preseason match, but still.

It just sucks… he’s our best CB when he’s healthy, but at this point anyone would be a better option.

The best ability is availability.

Your last turn of phrase there reminds me of another phrase that seems to work for Marcão’s status:

The best kind of nation…is a do-nation. I think we should just give Marcão to charity at this point.

This one was reported to be behind closed doors, so i’m unsure whether it’ll be televised.

Edit:

“El encuentro frente al Granada CF se podrá ver en Mitele y ElDesmarque de forma gratuita mediante registro como ya se pudo hacer desde el partido anterior contra el Sporting de Portugal y a través de los medios oficiales Sevilla FC TV y Sevilla FC Radio. El canal oficial de televisión del Sevilla se encuentra disponible en la TDT; también en streaming, en la web del club y en su canal de Youtube.” - Source

This is likely only for Spanish residents, but it’ll be available on Mitele & El Desmarque, as well as SFC YouTube (hopefully for real this time ).
