M37: Real Sociedad vs. Sevilla [2019-20]

How did we play? Been stuck at work again tonight.

Given third is going to be very hard now, I wouldn’t mind seeing some of the young lads at least get some minutes on Sunday against Valencia.

It was more of the same Sevilla we’re accustomed to seeing this season. A lot of possession without really hurting the other team. We found it very hard to get any shots on goal. Our best chance came towards the end when De Jong led a counter and laid it off to Ocampos to be 1v1, but Moya made the save.

Bono saved us a few times, especially in that 1v1 against Barrenetxea (?). I could def see Vaclík concede there. Bono closed down the space real well, and there wasn’t much to shoot at for the attacker. Also had a superb save in the 1st half from a Merino long shot. Deserved the MOTM shout.

Also, Banega obviously got booked and will now miss the last game against his ex Valencia. :joy:

Bono seems to have done well with a run of games. :eyes: Who’d have thought it?

Four years ago - Orlando, FL our seats for the match were directly behind the players bench. It was nuts to have such close access. What a fun night. There was a huge thunderstorm before the game, so they rushed all the fans into a building that was hosting a basketball tourny. The Sevilla and River fans were chanting so loud that the basketball folks complained and security made us leave that area too. haha
