Great post as always @Edinho!

• GOALKEEPERS:
Tomás Vaclík: B / STAY
Juan Soriano: B- / STAY

• CENTREBACKS:
Sergi Gómez: C+ / STAY
Simon Kjær: D / LEAVE
Daniel Carriço: B / STAY
Maximilian Wöber: C / Either way
Joris Gnagnon: C+ / STAY
Gabriel Mercado: B / STAY If we can get him back on a 2 year same or less salary deal
• FULLBACKS:
Aleix Vidal: C / Stay - Decent backup with similar qualities as Navas, just not as good.
Jesús Navas: A+ / STAY
Sergio Escudero: C / STAY I thought he had a terrible season. I hope it is just because he isn’t 100%, but if he was 100% and was this bad, he can leave assuming an upgrade is possible.
Guilherme Arana: C- / LEAVE I didn’t think he was terrible when he played. Sevilla won more than lost or tied with him in the line up as well.

• MIDFIELDERS:
Ibrahim Amadou: C+ / STAY
Roque Mesa: C / STAY
Éver Banega: C- / LEAVE
Maxime Gonalons: C- / LEAVE (played well when he wasn’t hurt…but he’s always freaking hurt)
Marko Rog: C / STAY - Decent when he played. If we can get him for the 15M Euros it seems like a good buy in this market.
Manuel Nolito: D- / LEAVE I mean poor guy with the injury, but damn he was bad.
Pablo Sarabia: A / STAY Look he had some bad games sure, but he had a great season overall.
Quincy Promes: B- / STAY - I look forward to Promes playing in a more natural attacking position where he can show some of his “Promise” from his Russian days.
Franco Vázquez: C / LEAVE - Decent at times, terrible most. Just not fast enough of a decision maker to make up for his lack of pace. Also loses his cool at times.
Bryan Gil: B+ / STAY - The kid was way over expectations and was a super sub for energy and changing Sevilla’s attacking game late.

• FORWARDS :
Wissam Ben Yedder: A+ / STAY - Our Man of the Year. Keep at all costs, unless those transfer fees are 60M +
André Silva: B+ / LEAVE - I have to give him a B because we won a lot of games with him in the lineup. Seem to lose interest after January for some reason.
Munir El Haddadi: B / STAY - What a great purchase by Sevilla.

Interesting that you wish for Gonalons to continue. He spent more time in the medical staff’s office than on the futbol pitch. With him being 30, I can’t imagine that this trend wouldn’t continue next season right?

GOALKEEPERS:
Tomás Vaclik: A / Obviously staying. Generally excellent this season.
Juan Soriano: B / He did his job when called upon. Hard to say if he will become a 1st choice keeper in the top division.

• CENTREBACKS:
Sergi Gómez: B / He’s just kinda meh. Good athlete, solid passer, but not great defensive instincts and an absolute liability on set piece marking. Ok as a backup.
Simon Kjær: D / Hard to say what happened, but we were worse when he played. 3 CB system did not fit him. Still the best aerial defender, but probably time for him to move on.
Daniel Carriço: A- / Turned back the clock. His ability to organize the defense and instincts were invaluable. Still slow and commits a lot of stupid fouls. You keep him around but don’t expect him to stay healthy.
Maximilian Wöber: C / The talent is obvious. Best passer of the bunch, but probably the worst defender. He’s only been here 4 months, so he’s not going anywhere.
Joris Gnagnon: Incomplete / The Atleti match was the best performance by any Sevilla defender in a long time. Hopefully he grabs the starting role next season.
Gabriel Mercado: C / He was not good in Machin’s system. Had a resurgence under Caparros, who just asks him to kick people and sit back. It’s time to let him go. He’s already lost a step and he gets a yellow every match.

• FULLBACKS:
Aleix Vidal: F / It didn’t work. He’s lost his lateral quickness and he can’t stay healthy. Not even second choice for most of the season.
Jesús Navas: A / Excellent. Ageless. The second most important chance creator in the squad.
Sergio Escudero: F / Never adjusted to Machin’s system or recovered from the broken elbow. He looked slow and rarely contributed to the attack. Big disappointment. If he stays, it would be in a Navarro-like role.
Guilherme Arana: D / He’s just playing at a club above his level. Smart about when to go forward, but doesn’t have the skills to create anything. Defense is meh. Surely leaving.

• MIDFIELDERS:
Ibrahim Amadou: D / Never really got a run of games. Would be great in a Emery team. I doubt he leaves, but I’m not sure what his role is.
Roque Mesa: B / Had a stretch of matches in the middle of the season where he was the best player on the pitch. Not creative enough or physical enough to be relied on in a 2 CM system at this point. I think he stays, but doesn’t start.
Éver Banega: C / Carried some momentum from the World Cup and was great the first 2 months, but he faded as the season progressed. Lost a lot of chance creation and his discipline was awful. He’s gonna leave, and replacing him is the biggest hole we have to fill (until Sarabia leaves shortly after)
Maxime Gonalons: D / Always hurt. Looked a decent player when he did play. No reason to buy him.
Marko Rog: C / Just seemed like an undersized DM to me. He runs around a lot and puts in a tackle, but he’s not great at keeping possession or creating. I’d pass on paying his clause.
Manuel Nolito: F / Time to go. Great locker room guy, but overpaid and just not good enough anymore.
Pablo Sarabia: A+ / We’re going to lose him for 18m, which is an absolute disaster. The biggest match winner and chance creator in the squad.
Quincy Promes: B / Didn’t fit the system, but still made it work at a lot of new positions. We need to put him in a position to succeed.
Franco Vázquez: C / Machin’s system seemed perfect for him, and it was for 3 months. But he’s inconsistent. And slow. And that creates a ceiling for what he can be. Probably time to move on, but losing Banega, Sarabia, and him would be brutal.
Bryan Gil: A / 17 year old playing meaningful minutes. Should only get better.

• FORWARDS :
Wissam Ben Yedder: A / He’s fantastic. Went cold the last month or so, but a really good year. He’ll have a lot of interest, but ultimately I think he stays.
André Silva: C / Great first half of the season, then disappeared. Does a lot of dirty work that goes unnoticed. No way we pay his clause though.
Munir El Haddadi: B+ / One of those guys who is productive without necessarily looking great. He’s obviously staying. Not sure I like the pairing with WBY, but he’s useful.

30 is nothing these days, and without the injuries he has been consistently good and I think deserves another chance…

Welcome back @sevilla_spurs ! I’d keep him in a rotational role due to his injury history, while we sign another stalwart at CM. You could make a case that the season would have ended very differently had he been healthier.

And thanks guys for adding comments along with the grades. Love reading the different POV’s. @jolazo1 100% agree with everything you wrote.

And @ShendM, you really do wanna get rid of everybody. I honestly can’t blame you though. The long season hasn’t helped us at all either. God forbid we lose to Athletic. :pray:t5:

Thanks mate, and yes his injuries have prevented him from having a decent run in the team, but when he was playing we looked so much better and more composed. They say an old head is also a wise head and I think that is the case with his experience and for that reason I would not sell him…

I thought I’d get panned for putting a LEAVE against Sergio Escudero but it looks like the majority of us are a bit disappointed with him.

Some great observations and spot on comments too, good analysis.

Also, we have players out on loan, Muriel being the biggest headache although there’s talk of him staying in Italy. And there’s Carlos Fernandez with Deportivo, he’s done alright there when he’s played.

To end, there’s Pozo with Granada, he hasn’t really excelled but he’s not got the physical build for second division football. Apart from that he has been voted the most promising under 20-year-old in European football by Italian media TuttiFutbol, and in other polls he figures in the top 100 most promising under 20-year-olds. I’ve watched him play on the left wing and has an ability to go past or through defenders, maybe next year will see his return to Sevilla and maybe Carlos Fernandez will spend another year with Deportivo.

Also amazing how Mudo has so many LEAVE next to his name, but I read so much on twitter about how better the team is when he plays, but I really don’t see that personally. For me he is a luxury player & seems to stroll around the pitch without a position, and so many times he tries too hard to do a nutmeg or something to try and wow the fans rather than being a team player.
Not saying he is a bad player but his work rate is poor and the midfield gets exposed when he plays against teams that play with high intensity

He’s just so inconsistent. He’s usually good the first two months of the season, then it’s like he gets tired or something and he can’t keep up with the pace of the game. He’s still got incredible vision so if he has time to pick a pass, he can make an impact. This might be mean, but he’s just a rich man’s Ganso.

This explains a lot!

Machin’s experiment as left us with a handful of CBs. Mercado will leave on a free, and if Monchi has any sense left he knows Kjær must go as well. That leaves us with 4, which should suffice for a squad likely to play with a back-4.

I feel the consensus is that we still need to sign a top class CB. I’m fine with giving Gnagnon a go as a starter next season, but I can’t say the same for Wöber. Max is great at bringing the ball out of defence, he’s just been poor at actually defending. Maybe we rock out with Carriço & Gnagnon, with Gómez & Wöber as backup, and Amadou as a 5th option. Is anyone else fine with that scenario? OR should we flip Gómez for profit (only cost us ~€4M) and make room for another signing?

The only problem with only carrying 4 is they are so often injured. Carrico hasn’t been the most reliable as far as health is concerned, nor Gnagnon. I think we have to buy at least one CB if both Mercado and Kjaer leave, 2 if Gomez is gone as well.
